In a sense that is Nokia's way of saying that with the transition from MeeGo to Tizen, they are officially leaving the boat an refocusing their Linux know-how on Meltemi development.

Doesn't mean anything, Nokia shows lots of different colors for their phones that are never released, or are released later, as a manuever to bring relevance to older models, like the pink N8.

I just retweeted about the Grid 10 mentioning at their hastag. I thought they posted the one after about Google/Mobility to descredit that - and deleted afterwards.

I'm quite sure it's coming from the Joojoo guys. The mockup they show in the videos is identical to the Grid tablet that appeared at FCC, they are americans and their CEO is really from Singapore.

It's more a residual effect. Before, with Maemo/MeeGo in the bigger picture, Qt made more sense because it would promote easy porting between it and S40/60, providing a strong ecosystem. The Nokia's...

Isn't the 1st item a repagination of that idea of bringing smartphones for the lower end?

Before, the strategy was to make S60 go down the spectrum and replace S40, while Maemo/MeeGo whould take...

Exactly. People forget that WP7 isn't designed like Android, to run on any chipset. Or do you put it in the suggested hardware, or Microsoft won't license it.

Cool! Does the terminal icon appears magically in the apps menu after you turn on dev mode in the Settings menu, or do you access it from somewhere else?

Isn't the GUI just a service? Can't we just create another GUI and make MeeGo fire it up instead of the proprietary one?

I understand that harmattan UI is closed, but can't it just not be used, or...

In fact, this discussion is pointless. A good quantity of apps is good, in a way that "ecosystem" have "critical mass" (more developers supporting it, more likely to have all the needed good apps...
