Re: Delete data/Destroy phone

No such button. That I know of at least.

If you're that determined to destroy it (I can understand this), then yes, soaking it in water, then smashing in with a hammer (probably way more efficient...

Re: [HELP] Kernel-Power 52 wrecked my phone, Wi-Fi

I believe since 51 they were included with the kernel-power-modules package. Located at /opt/packet-injection-modules/`uname`/.

Re: [HELP] Kernel-Power 52 wrecked my phone, Wi-Fi

Umm... wl1251_spi is part of the injection-capable patched wifi driver. Not the stock wifi driver (unless they changed things in v. 52).

So I suspect for some reason the config for modprobe has...

Re: [Hildon Foundation] A personal introduction by Jimjag (Jim Jagielski)

I would love to spend the time to get into researching case law/precedent, both for the USA's federal level, and for the state where HiFo is registered, to see if your interpretation here is sound....

Re: Navit on N900

Question (don't have time to read the thread history to find answers, if they exist, sorry): Why cmake and not autotools? And does using cmake to do it make it any less doable for you or whoever...

Re: MWKN Weekly News: 25 March 2013

No one said it states it, in the sense that it was explicitly stated. The claim is that the reason the bylaws provide for a Council at all, was for that purpose. And if you can sincerely tell me it...

Re: [Pre-Pre-Pre Announce]Black Aluminium replacement body & backcover for N900

That sounds rather unlikely. A "router" is, after all, an entire system on a chip, with dedicated ram/storage (even if tiny).

Maybe one of the antenna ports on the motherboard goes to wifi,...

Re: [Council] Should Tech Staff and/or Council Remove Dangerous Packages From Extras and Extras-Testing?

Yeah, as thedead1440 said, this is about whether to remove packages from Extras or Extras-Testing; so far everyone commenting besides sixwheeledbeast was fine with them staying in extras-devel....

Re: IPv6 support for Nokia N900

Question:

I have virtually none of these IPv6 packages:
wide-dhcpv6-client, osso-rtsol, libip6t-idletimer, etc.

Yet thus far, I've (as far as I know) didn't have any problems with wifi...

Re: [Council] Should Tech Staff and/or Council Remove Dangerous Packages From Extras and Extras-Testing?

Just so that this is noted, at least nowadays the description of the batterypatch package says that it overclocks the device. However, it's at the bottom of the description, where most users are...

[Council] Should Tech Staff and/or Council Remove Dangerous Packages From Extras and Extras-Testing?

Okay, so on the meeting held on 2013-03-15, community member sixwheeledbeast brought up issues (http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p=1328060) with the relatively well known packages speedpatch...

Re: [Referendum] [Council] Hildon Foundation and Maemo Community Council(s)

Okay, so, here is some backstory/explanation, on top of what everyone else gave, as well as some commentary towards the end:

1. Back when the Hildon Foundation was still being /formed/, it was...

Re: T-Mobile "UnCarrier" deal

Re: [Announce] Enhanced BusyBox package

I just noticed that where-as before the old busybox binary went into /opt, it is now being left in /bin.

Is there a reason for this, or just a side-effect of using dpkg's divert mechanism on it?...
