Re: Cellular phones with a wireless router built-in!! ! !

I would prefer this (which is also very small): http://www.slashgear.com/huawei-i-mo-hspa-modem-with-wifi-1334150/

Re: nokia e71 vs n79 vs n82

My E71 and N800 work together very well - HSDPA and Bluetooth connections are fine. If I only could melt them together...

Re: Where is Nokia - no announcement no product - still in hibernation

Ok, would be a way out, sort of. But I hate the stress of managing this. Additionally, I would always be tempted to tell the buyer "hey there is this and this better thing and that's the reason i...

Re: Where is Nokia - no announcement no product - still in hibernation

Problem is that in 2009 I will give my money exactly once to exactly one manufacturer. Now if Nokia will not announce something attractive in time then they will be too late, at least in my case (I...

Re: Using n810 keyboard on external device(s60 3d)

There was a SoftHID-keyboard solution some time ago for N770/800. It just showed a keyboard on the touchscreen and behaved like a bluetooth HID keyboard. Maybe it works with the hardware keyboard...

Re: SSU 5.2008.43-7 is available

Indeed, "Extras" has been disabled! Update went fine here (N800) with power plugged in. Thanks Nokia for this little Christmas gift. I'm still unwrapping it :)

Re: how big should the n900 be?

Size of N810 without the hump and with the screen almost fully covering the surface (1280x...px).

Re: Nokia N97 Announced

With "just larger" I mean exactly this. It is not very likely either but I would like to have that option - a super convergence device with 4.x inch capacitive touch screen and maemo os. And this...

Re: Nokia N97 Announced

If N900 is simply larger than N97 then it's also more expensive.

Re: Umid mid mid

It's much smaller than the Everun Note - look at this 4.8" screen. Overall size is therefore a little bit larger than Aigo MID etc.. Standby time is some days at least, linux drivers have been...

Re: Archos iPhone n810 web load time comparison

Archos 5's Opera takes indefinitely to load local files (it refuses to do that!)

Re: question re: command line and java

Yes, but not out of the box. For instance, you can install "Easy Debian" (http://www.internettablettalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=24272) which includes Sun's Open Java.

Probably it will come to US later with Android (rumor, sorry: in German only here (http://www.areamobile.de/news/9999.html))

Re: Boot in 5 seconds

Whether it's needed or not (should not!) - fast boot (and in particular a 5s boot) would be really impressive, and it would be a sign of intellectual power

Re: ARCHOS Generation 5G

Not slower but only a little bit faster, say 30%. On the pages I visited there was almost no flash; N800 had flash off, Archos not. Bandwidth was low (WLAN shared by many customers obviously). I've...

Re: ARCHOS Generation 5G

Obviously no OLED (hm, not sure), but nevertheless very bright and with high contrast, also 4.8" is substantially better than 4.3".

I had the Archos and my N800 side by side with the same...

Re: ARCHOS Generation 5G

Recently I've played with the new Archos 5 just to find out about the new OMAP CPU (yes, again at Saturn Alexanderplatz). Man the thing is heavy. Too heavy. And the browser is slow! My first test was...

Re: welcome to a new update all diablo os2008 users!

Cannot check browser performance improvements since I have 3G...

Re: Amazing new device...

"Offline" here just means no network connection. Maybe in 10 years the "always (safely) connected" dream becomes true but today it is not. And I think the paradigm of local data (physically...

Re: when next?

So it seems to be true, and very sad: no N900 before spring/summer 2009. I feel disappointed by Nokia since this is much too late indeed. My secret hope was they would take us by surprise and give us...

Re: Dr. Ari Jaaksi on Maemo 5

Isn't the (already shipping!) Archos 5 equipped with a OMAP3 CPU?? Is this one different from the one expected in the N900?

Re: Amazing new device...

I, for one, still care for offline operation. Therefore, my favoured solution is a dock which just takes over the complete filesystem and switches off the built-in CPU, screen etc.. Thus everything...

Re: New Mini USB Keyboard

Why? Take the appropriate cable and you do not need any adapters. That's the optimum!
