Re: GeoClue and Diablo?

Hi Jeff,

I haven't gotten around to packaging the newest geoclue, mostly because jaiku API is broken (at least, it was two weeks ago when I left for Guadec and holidays) and Mauku is my geoclue...

Re: Modest Beta for OS2008 Now Out

Guys, a reminder: make sure you file bugs (or vote for existing ones), otherwise the developers won't know about them:

Re: Maemo Extra version IDs from HELL...

Not to mention that this isn't really a bug in the mentioned packages: stupid maybe, but not a bug.... Application Manager not being able to keep the name column visible is a bug.

Re: iPhone and iPod Touch SDK is amazing... Wow.

That's just as off topic as every message in this thread. I just read through nine pages with the hopes of seeing a few comments actually about the Apple SDK.

I learned that the SDK is apparently...

Re: apg-get won't update libart

Depends on whether libgoffice depends on a specific version of libart or not... probably not and everything should then work fine

Yes it is, IIRC it's called pinning. Can't remember the details,...

Re: Maemo is CSS contaminated (not entirely open)

Do you have a reference for that? I thought cx3110 was pretty good in that regard.

I may be biased as I work for OpenedHand, but I think Clutter is really cool. Check the blog for some demonstrations (like this one: Clutter on Moblin running on...

Re: Is it possible to run Ubuntu Mobile on n810?

That's pretty much impossible with kernel drivers (like wireless).

Re: Nokia N800 discontinued?

Exactly. And like I said, community support may carry old products even further, providing that
1) drivers are free
2) community is large enough
Community grows all the time, and hopefully...

Re: PC Pro gives the N810 3/6

ok... I'd like to point out that it would make the discussion easier if you said what the "things that an ordinary person might want" are -- personally I think there is no "ordinary user", but if I...

Re: Nokia N800 discontinued?

Because they are not similar. Price is just as important feature as any technical detail... it's just like futures said, price differentiation is essential when you're maximizing profits.

Re: Figuring out component version numbers and firmware

That is weird... The kernel is correct for the first OS2008 release AFAICT, but the bootloader is not! My 50-2 has nolo 1.1.7 (hwbuild, whatever it is, and initfs version are the same as yours).

There is such a player in the works, quite far in development. I happened to be in #maemo when the developer asked for testers (maybe 1-2 weeks ago) and had a go with it: It looked quite promising,...

Re: SkyHook Wireless Apps

Andrew did mention licensing in the post, but just so no-one gets the wrong idea: distributing software made with the SDK is only legal after distributor has bought a license from Skyhook.

Re: Add Adblock Plus to Firefox?

The browser is not Firefox, it just has the same rendering engine. So Firefox extensions will not work.

Here's adblock for maemo browser: http://browser-extras.garage.maemo.org/news/5/

Re: Considering a N810 for PIM and Video

It's a non-trivial problem, anyone who has tried can tell you that. In fact it's an extremely difficult problem, especially when people want to sync with abominations like Outlook.
