Re: Keep or sell...?
I lost my previous N900 on Sunday evening probably somewhere in the arctic snowbanks of Southern Helsinki. On Monday I bought a new N900 - the last that the shop had. 450 euro. Must be out of my...

Re: BlessN900 - better camera for N900
Eugene - good point to have a look at. So I did, and realised that I had unintentionally turned the default camera setting (possibly automatic after installing PR1.3) to lower resolution leading some...

Re: BlessN900 - better camera for N900
Here are comparison pictures from just a little while back. Sun had practically set, clouds were grey, it was raining. You can also easily see how much wider the BlessN900 angle is. Why is that, btw?...

Re: BlessN900 - better camera for N900
I've tried to compare some pics with the normal N900 camera and BlessN900. Is it just me, or is the focal length shorter in BlessN900 than in the normal camera app?

Re: PR1.3: users, was it worth the wait?
I backed up the phone with its inbuilt back-up programme.
Tried then OTA update to PR1.3, but it asked for PC Suite.
Set up PC Suite on the new laptop: it didn't obviously work.
Then...

Re: Stop smoking app?
OT again. So, richwhite, you suggest that for some reason the vast majority of the current nicotine research is wrong? According to your view, nicotine does not cause a chemical effect on brain which...

Re: Stop smoking app?
OT Warning!
Nicotine dependence is a VERY well documented physical addiction. About 7% first time cold turkey quitters manage to stay off fags for 12 months. On average, a successful quitter has...

Re: Stop smoking app?
Nicotine addiction is purely physical (and medical) a condition and very few people can go cold turkey with cigarettes. Any help that will distract from thinking of pleasure of lighting up, remind,...

Re: app manager not updating :(
Pantera, you rule! Thank you so very much! Goes a long way to show what the value of a good community is!
All I had to do was to go sudo gainroot and then run the two command lines. It now works...

Re: app manager not updating :(
I tried to delete Hermes from the phone:
sudo gainroot
apt-get purge hermes
Now, the app manager doesn't have any available applications though all the usual repositories are included. Not...

Re: Bright spot or spots on display / LCD
I managed to slip on stairs, broke a bit myself and also the screen of my N900. Had it changed here in Athens.
It took service a week to get the screen. It took them overnight to change it -...

Re: Flash 10.1 on Nokia N900
Well, as long as I cannot play them - or how do I get rid of the flash update field, pls tell me - I take it that FB needs Flash10.1 and that my N900 doesn't work properly.

Re: Loose display
If it is a physical design issue, then I guess I will have to live with it - or do you imply that it can be fixed by Nokia service?

Re: Loose display
I run PR1.2 since the day it arrived. I've never had real responsiveness issues. Nor do I really push the screen as I would push a keyboard.
However, a gentle touch which goes just a tad bit more...

Loose display
My N900 display has started to make noise when pushing it either with finger or with stylus.
The sound (and feel of screen somehow being loose - not sideways, but depth-vise) started first from...
