Did you reboot after installing the sd card?? If yes, then it is just that reboot seems to make the n900 faster. After 3 to 4 days it will again slow down.

makes more sense to call the vfs change script when screen is on... I am keeping my fs to 200 when higher load and 20 when no load... so far so good.. giving good battery life...

@trisha remove conky and all widgets. like some one told install the htop. see who is eating the power. identify the culprit and try to see if that can be removed.

Remove conky and see if the battery life improves. monitor using top to see who is taking higher cpu.

Also, follow some of the tips on the net like better sim, in good signal area etc to make sure...

put the stock kernel and reboot your phone. report back the battery usage with stock kernel. if it is still abysmal then you have some other bigger problem. what does battery graph says? how much...

it restarts lots of processes like desktop, status menu, contacts, phone etc. this refreshes your ram usage and hence can be good for uptime of the n900. it would take little battery, shouldn't be...

So far I have been without this script. I too had raised (http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p=1017352&postcount=221) the difference between ohmd and this script but didn't pursue it till the end....

if you have not made change to the default profile of your power kernel like stated in post 1, then do the following in terminal

sudo gainroot
kernel-config load default

this will load default...

No it won't kill it. It all depends on your usage. If your usage is moderate it will still go on. Please read the wiki on overclocking and see for yourself. 500Mhz with power kernel uses way lesser...

@trisha you should be able to overclock it. Make sure it is not over 805 when using smart reflex.

@seeker if ideal profile is crashing try using ulv or xlv. they are lower than default but higher...

don't change the default profile of kernel power.

Instead load the ideal profile, save it and make changes to that and make it your default. I have the battery tweak...

hildon-home crashing means you have some widget which is corrupt and is responsible for the crash. try to identify it and you should be all set... try by removing all widget and see if crash occurs,...

I have made vfs cache pressure as 10, after reading stuff on droid forum and all, seems it makes battery last longer. I can see that battery goes down around 1% in an hour with gtalk and gvoice on...

read somewhere that keeping 1000 or higher value will basically would increase battery life by not cleaning cache on frequent basis. I might be wrong, may be some guru can help with the value.

enable devel repository and install transitioncontrol. make all values to 10 from 25 and enjoy, the transitions are way faster.
