Re: WhoGo Maps fork looks for name and visual identity

I agree with Rinigus about the icon, it looks less generic with the marker.

You guys are not fair. :D PeeGo would be a major issue, WeeGo distinguishing two words may be one too, but Weego while...

Re: WhoGo Maps fork looks for name and visual identity

If Winnie the Pooh managed to get this popular, Weego can do it.

Re: WhoGo Maps fork looks for name and visual identity

Damn, forgot about that. Stupid Anglo-Saxons! Seems however that it is more often used to describe something tiny (no, no that) or yell excitement (Weeee!) than as a synonym of you know what, isn't?...

Re: WhoGo Maps fork looks for name and visual identity

I like Weego because it looks like the Wario of Meego, an OS that fathered Sailfish. It also stays close enough to WhoGo and Here WeGo, which is good to acknowledge where are the roots of this fork.

Re: Gemini PDA (the return of the Psion Series 5MX)

I think I found another version here on TMO, and I seem to remember it was supposed to fix a display issue. Could be the one you're having. Let me check if I can find the post where I found it,...

Re: Gemini PDA (the return of the Psion Series 5MX)

Erm, sad. Is it Sterllarium for Sailfish 0.9.1 or is it another version?

Re: Gemini PDA (the return of the Psion Series 5MX)

Can you elaborate with a screenshot on the issue with Stellarium Epninety? Does it run with bugs, or does it crash?

Unless I misunderstood what you meant, no it can't. The angle is fixed.

Re: Python script for Xiaomi Yi on Sailfish

Sure, I would be happy to test but I'm not sure when I'll be able to provide the feedback since I'm having issues with Gstreamer at the moment...

Re: Python script for Xiaomi Yi on Sailfish

The video is really exciting. Are you planning on putting that on Openrepos when it's ready? I have a Yi 2 too, and I think I got it working with the Android application with Alien (haven't tried in...

Re: Nemomobile glacier UI. anyone seen it ?

Thanks, that was fast!

Unfortunately I still have this issue:

I must be doing something wrong, I'll try later with different architecture settings in...

Re: Nemomobile glacier UI. anyone seen it ?

Nice!

By the way, maybe you would know: I wanted to try Nemo in Virtualbox using one of the images available, but the installer won't boot, all I get is a gray screen with no way to interact....

Re: The new QWERTY device project

You are absolutely right, we just can't ask all the features that come to our mind. My previous posts months ago in this topic show how much I agree. I even believe I stepped against the Blackberry...

Re: The new QWERTY device project

I agree with you, but maybe using an optical trackpad as the previous Blackberry phones, the Samsung Omnia or the HP keyboard I linked before would work for a fraction of the cost, and much easier...

Re: The new QWERTY device project

All OSes have some sort of text selection, and the trackpad can already be used for better accuracy on that, even in Android. New Blackberry phones running Android have this feature for instance....

Re: The new QWERTY device project

I don't know. To be honest I would agree for about any "exotic" feature *but* the cursor. As Pichlo said, just because it has become a standard to use OSes without accurate cursor movements thanks to...

Re: The new QWERTY device project

As far as I know, he definitely aims at offering a smartphone with hwkb, not a pocket computer. For instance, the keyboard should be made for thumb typing, as opposed to the Gemini's, and the slider...

Re: The new QWERTY device project

Oh, I didn't know about that example. I am convinced that for the space it takes, I would be worth it. Having a cursor on a landscape phone with a qwerty keyboard is in my opinion a must, and the...

Re: The new QWERTY device project

You went from comparing (multiple times) Chen's project with yet another Jolla tablet drama, then irony on the impossible schedule and unfeasible goals, then a cynical and skeptical ranting (I got it...

Re: The new QWERTY device project

You are right that we do not have this information, but your message was suggesting that the statement that Chen "is trying" could be questioned. I don't think we need to look into the books of the...

I'm not sure what you mean here. We know exactly what he is doing from this very thread: he is working to deliver a hwkb handheld device designed by his company, and has already said here that they...

Re: Who is still interested in Neo900?

There are indeed countless examples on TMO of the cycle you describe, but it also is due to the fact that we are a small community to start with, and a community left with no device upgrade in years....

Re: Who is still interested in Neo900?

Re: Who is still interested in Neo900?

I fail to see why having hope that the Neo900 eventually happens would hinder the development of these OSes. I am very happy that Leste and Postmarket OS are progressing and supporting more devices...
