Re: Oversize me! (battery thread)

the acetone 'melts' the ABS plastic by partially dissolving it into a goo, but a single or even several layer print even at high temp is still only as strong as the contact points of the squirted...

Re: Oversize me! (battery thread)

I have done most of the hacks considered in this thread, double cell, inductive charging (Qi and Touchstone) I have rebuilt the USB port and I have installed a secondary charging board inside a Mugen...

Re: [Announce] Maebble - Pebble support for Maemo

The version of Java for gadgetbridge is off from what is on the N900, the best bet is is to use it as a playbook for someone interested in writing a new maemo app.

As for bluetooth 4 LE on the...

Re: [Announce] Maebble - Pebble support for Maemo

Maebble is based on libpebble, not sure the basis of gadgetbridge. I doubt the Xiaomi uses the same or similar protocol to the Pebble.
You can review the python for maebble to see if it lines up...

Good news everybody!
Maebble is now approved at https://garage.maemo.org/projects/maebble/
and the latest files by Proprog are now available there.
I hope we eventually have something worthy of...

Re: n900 with voice only service

For years I had only a prepaid SIM(we have free incoming calls paid by caller) and only used wifi data; I saved the prepaid credit, which lasted for 365 days, to send out SMSs when required. I dont...

Re: N900 Wireless Charging

If you have found a receiver with shorted data pins please post it to that thread. In fact if you figure out anything else novel also post it so I can add it to that thread.

Re: N900 Wireless Charging

What you are suggesting should work, but you can also just enable un-shorted charging.
look into this thread:

Re: Gemini PDA (the return of the Psion Series 5MX)

What kind of keyboard switches are they using, those keys look almost big enough to hide some Cherry blues.
(edit) I looked at more pix, I am pretty sure there is no room for mechanical key switches.

Re: Would you buy/use Nokia N900 in 2018?

I have been thinking of opening up a few of my X-SIM N900s and reballing the modem chip with my hot air reflow station, does anyone know the ideal temp for the N900's solder?

As for the thread I...

Is the install more reliable if deep reaching store/gapps is not installed and instead uses only f-droid repository and hand installed apks?

Re: [WTS] Nokia N900 Used - California

Be careful this is one of the Chinese Refurbished "New" N900s.
The outsides are new but the circuit board is from a repaired N900, though the ones I have had are nasty dirty work.
If it works...

Re: Neo900 - finally a successor of N900

Joerg, Sorry didn't mean that to come out $#!tty towards you, I have been bugging him to use his louder voice for years for a pager-smartphone, I turned RMS onto the idea. I am also disappointed in...

Re: Neo900 - finally a successor of N900

Joerg, GDC, Neo900 team, TMO,
I do not fault you and the Neo900 team when I make statements of resignation to our fate.
I would contribute to the Neo900 and did buy a GTA02 because I was part of...

Re: Neo900 - finally a successor of N900

It has always been about the N900 form factor and OS. I would love to do another hardware generation jump and maybe bump back to N800 form factor so we get more LCD area.
Throw a Maemo5 like GUI...

Re: Problems with N900 USB port becoming broken / loose and resulting warranty & repair issues

I think if you are getting the USB symbol the USB port is good enough, though you could get a cheap hot air reflow unit and try reflowing the USB solder points, you might try putting some lead %...

Re: [HOWTO] N900 Bluetooth-PAN Tethering (N900 supplies Internet Access for PC)

This BT tethering function is...
