Just a heads-up: the patch does what I want after I click "restart theme daemon" in Ambiance Settings, but after a reboot, I am back to larger fonts and the wrong colours and I have to restart theme...

I noticed the other day while I was restarting the theme daemon a bit too quick in succession that that disabled the toasts... does that help?

Hmmmm... I gave up trying to do something clever, I just set all buttons to white text on black background for the standard keyboard and black text on white background for swype.

The width problem is not specific to Swype, it happens with the regular keyboard as well.
This is caused by this line (117) inconstants.ini:
