I found Claws a much better IMAP client, in that it could send mail through my fiancee's account, whereas Modest couldn't (certificate issue, best I could tell). Perhaps it'll do the deletes properly...

Dilute vinegar sprayed on warm microfiber cloth (from auto parts store). Cloth soaked in hot water & wrung to moist. Cloth can be pointed to clean edges.
But, use a screen protector.
