Re: Novacut video editor prototype tested on n900

I think the main dependency would be couchdb.

Ah, looks like this is one of their demos they made for their kickstarter campaign. They have a link to where you can try it here!...

Novacut video editor prototype tested on n900

Hey all, there's a cool video Jason DeRose uploaded to the Novacut Vimeo channel.

http://vimeo.com/26192250

It seems to be a prototype for cutting video that's running on the n900. If you look...

Re: [Announce] USB hostmode beta release

Crogge: The end of that cable is not shaped right. You would have to file two of the metal corners off.

@joerg_rw
I'm sorry you're getting frustrated with the community. I sometimes find it annoying that people can't be bothered to read a couple posts back too. However, I might point out (not having...

Re: GRAND FINAL!!!! VOTE NOW!!. Fone Arena Smartphone Championship - N900 FTW!

Worthwhile comment from C. Whiteham in the poll comments:

I tried out the scripts, and they work. Yeah, that sort of thing gives one a whole new respect for the n900.

Re: [Announce] FrontView 0.1 (alpha) - Turns your mobile phone into a document scanner

I can think of some excellent uses for something like this if it were open sourced.

looks pretty neat. Have you thought about svg export since it does vector graphics?

Re: Gartner: N900 five month sales less than 100,000 -- Nokia: more than 100,000 in first five weeks

I suspect that updates are not counted. If they were, we would see a much more pronounced distribution curve with apps that are frequently updated having an inordinate amount of downloads compared...

Re: google's vp8 opensourced!!

Well, I never said those were mutually exclusive, just that having vp8 support on everyone's device would be nice, just like it would've been nice to have built in theora support.

Re: google's vp8 opensourced!!

Given the way Theora can now run on the n900's DSP, couldn't a developer do the same for VP8? Granted this is a suboptimal solution, optimal being that it comes in an official Nokia update, but it...

Re: [Announce] Maelophone -Stylophone emulator

The top 2 rows contain 12 keys plus one shift/alt/ctrl key. That should let you use a row as an octave. Just press three keys at once and you have a chord.

Re: Why the stylus isn’t dead

It's not stylus vs finger here. 90% of the time, I use my finger on the n900, but I really find the stylus handy for sketch, handwriting, etc apps. You don't have to give up good finer usability to...

Re: New video codec gets Firefox running videos at 30fps!

One clarification to the people on this thread: This is specifically for Ogg Theora videos using HTML5. Flash will not run faster and HTML5 videos using h.264 will not play at all. That said, nice...
