Re: One week to MeeGo

... Also given the fact that the Maemo SDK 5 didn't say: "if you are using Qt 4.6.2 in /opt and update to the 5th version, automatically the Qt will become 4.7 and the non-opt will become 4.6".

Re: Qt and Internet connectivity on Fremantle Stable SDK

Double check the "/etc/resolv.conf" in your scratchbox: if different from your host environment, just copy it over.

Re: USB networking on the N900 from Ubuntu

The problem is in the package

usb-network-modules

The g_ether module that sits in there has not been recompiled for the latest kernel.

I'm trying to leave a comment to the package page...

Re: USB networking on the N900 from Ubuntu

News.
That's what appears in my "dmesg":

g_ether: disagrees about version of symbol struct_module

This can only mean that there is a kernel version mismatch between the loaded module, the...

Re: Left high-and-dry by Nokia/Ovi store :(

I agree. That's indeed the problem here.
How Apple (and Google Android) do and why Nokia can't do the same?

Re: Don't rush with news (pre-release units to PR1.0)

The message was clearly saying that "The Release file was not providing the MD5 of the packages". And indeed, when I downloaded the file manually, they were not there.

Now it's working fine...

Re: Left high-and-dry by Nokia/Ovi store :(

Yes if the app you submit is crap and doesn't sell. Because if it does you just have shot yourself in the foot ;)

Re: Can someone tell me why N900 and not Android?

Man, I was thinking of receiving a comment like that to that sentence. :)

Honestly, I technologically agree with you. They are not features (and indeed, I didn't call them so).
But I'm in this...

Re: Left high-and-dry by Nokia/Ovi store :(

Costs are obvious: we understand that Nokia actually needs to put people to work to do the validation and all the checking.
But a fair price that a single developer can afford.

Re: Don't rush with news (pre-release units to PR1.0)

Honestly, unless there is a bug big like a house in AppManager, I don't think this is the case.
The problem is server side, and you can see if you use apt-get from command line.

Re: Left high-and-dry by Nokia/Ovi store :(

That's something that Nokia has to react upon pretty damn fast. Maemo community is beautiful because is done by individuals and if they have this approach to the Ovi Store they are going to screw...

Re: Can someone tell me why N900 and not Android?

I don't want to sound to bold or dismissive here guys, but the story of the Openess is going to change once this OS goes really mass market.

Nokia started Maemo as an experiment, and being those...

I assumed that there is a coordination between who maintains the repositories and who maintains the FW images.

The problems for me got connected by the...

Qt and Internet connectivity on Fremantle Stable SDK

Hello.
I'm facing a weird problem.

The SDK 1.0 (and the 1.0-update1) brought us a big deal of stability. That's cool!

But there is something weird going on in the Qt area.
I have a simple...

Don't rush with news (pre-release units to PR1.0)

Hello.
I just had a bad day with N900.
I was happily doing my progress with Qt 4.5/6 (yes, bot at the same time until 4.6 gets stable) on Maemo 5.
Then I received the news that "we should all...
