yes that is true on all n9's as far as I know. This is characteristic of the Pentile Amoled display. Are you seeing the purple tint though?

On the n9 that i own, i didnt notice the black spots even in those conditions which you describe. the only thing that i do notice is the reddish/purple tint/bleeding on the left side of the screen...

I know some have mentioned that this device will be shipped in September but I sure hope that is more like July/August time frame. That would really be a big and positive change from Nokia!
