Re: [ANNOUNCE] CSSU-thumb thread - stable Thumb2 on N900

I tried that repository earlier but could not connect so I tried the repo.maemo.org one. Now I tried this one again and I successfully updated to -thumb.

Re: [ANNOUNCE] CSSU-thumb thread - stable Thumb2 on N900

I added community-testing, and that reduced the number of packages in the "Problems" tab, but there are still missing packages.

libmaemosec, maemosec-certman, osso-systemui-alarm, etc.

Re: [ANNOUNCE] CSSU-thumb thread - stable Thumb2 on N900

There is no Details button. The only button is "Create backup". I already have a recent backup.

When I check the Log there are no errors in it to tell me to what the problem is.

I only have...

Re: [ANNOUNCE] CSSU-thumb thread - stable Thumb2 on N900

When I try to upgrade to CCSU Thumb with HAM it says that I must connect to the Nokia PC Suite and upgrade using that. It doesn't give me an option to proceed. Ideas?

Re: [script] Listen to iheartradio (mplayer)

If you can trick your flash to report >10 it might work, but think about it... would you rather run flash that uses a lot of power or just stream the audio feed in a low-resource music player.

Re: [script] Listen to iheartradio (mplayer)

If the N9 can play HTTP streams, yes. I don't have an N9.

Re: [script] Listen to iheartradio (mplayer)

I'm not sure, but you could just get the URL on another computer and then type it in your Maemo 4 device. The URL is not user or device specific.

Re: [script] Listen to iheartradio (mplayer)

Found an easier method. The XML URL does not work for all stations and the station ID is hard to find.

They use a JSON API for getting the streaming info for the flash player on their site and you...

Re: GLib package update (2.22 and 2.26)

The data package is not installed by default so I find it hard to believe it would cause problems.

I have attached them to the original post. You're free to try them.

Re: Fennec 14.0 and more (updated 2012-08-04)

You're not browsing the web if you have JavaScript turned off. Every modern web page that a normal person would go to uses JavaScript.

Fennec on ARM is dead. The Gecko engine will still receive...

Re: Fennec 14.0 and more (updated 2012-08-04)

Sorry, I didn't mean to have this requirement. I compiled Fennec 14 with Glib 2.26 on my scratchbox. It isn't worth recompiling for stock Glib so you'll need to install my new Glib package.

Updated Telepathy for GTalk Voice and Video calls

June 2011, Google changed their protocol for video and voice calls. Our N900s were no longer able to make video and voice calls.

Our phones use the telepathy framework that Gnome uses so upstream...

Re: Fennec 14.0 and more (updated 2012-08-04)

I took down the 12.0 nightly link. It should not be used by anyone.

8.0.1 is the last Fennec version that will have a fast JavaScript engine. The newer Fennec versions may have a faster UI but...

Re: Fennec 14.0 and more (updated 2012-08-04)

I just posted a new GTK Fennec 14.0 package. It's slower than previous versions so I'm not sure why you guys want it.

Re: GLib package update (2.22 and 2.26)

Yes, I tested this on a N900. I wouldn't have posted these packages without doing so.

Size, but even then it is a very marginal difference. I first got 2.22 compiled and then 2.26 so I went...

Re: GLib package update (2.22 and 2.26)

What would be the best way to get glib 2.26 into the CSSU?

I'm by no means an expert debian packager so I may need someone to look over how I packaged this and fix any mistakes. I come from RPM...

GLib package update (2.22 and 2.26)

Just when I thought I was out, Google pulled me back in.

I got frustrated that Google broke GTalk Voice/Video with our phones and I've started a quest to fix it.

First off: GLib provided in...

Re: Fennec 8.0.1 and 12.0a build (Nightly)

That should probably happen now that Mozilla has pulled support. I'll think about it.

Fennec 13.0 has been posted to the OP. I have used it for surfing a few regular sites and did not see any...

I'll see about building an updated Fennec in the next few days. I haven't touched this since I first posted.

Re: Fennec 8.0.1 and 12.0a build (Nightly)

The download links should still work. They work for me.

If someone knows of a better file sharing service let me know.

Re: [Announce] kernel-power stable v49 in Extras-Testing

New issue:

If I leave Fennec 8.0.1 running in the background and lock my phone, my phone reboots after about 5 to 10 minutes. It can happen even if no web page is displayed (Fennec home screen)....

Re: [Announce] kernel-power stable v49 in Extras-Testing

Any luck on the WLAN bug?

Disabling WLAN from automatically connecting doesn't help. If I go into the "Internet connection" widget from the home screen, WLAN APs are still pinged. After 2-3 days...

Re: Fennec 12.0a build (Nightly)

I have built Fennec 8.0.1 and indeed find that sunspider is faster over version 12. I have uploaded the deb and updated the first post to the link to it. Fennec 8.0.1 will probably be the last built...
