Re: Bitcoin server running on an N900

No. You need to mine to earn bitcoin. But still, as said above, don't bother; even in shared mining pools and even if you have free (to you) power, you'll still not make enough to make it worth it,...

Re: [WIP] Just starting, bitcoin plugin (N900, Python-GTK for mbarcode/maybe browser in future)

I got to a point where some individual parts of it were working, but then stopped working on it and haven't done any more work/integration for a month or more.

Have another couple of personal...

Re: [WIP] Just starting, bitcoin plugin (N900, Python-GTK for mbarcode/maybe browser in future)

Thanks for the interest and support. I imagined it might be painful. 10 minutes is long enough to validate the transaction in the next block :)

I haven't forgotten it but some weeks I get more...

Re: [WIP] Just starting, bitcoin plugin (N900, Python-GTK for mbarcode/maybe browser in future)

So I've probably done about a day and a half's work on it since the first post above, and I seem to have motivation to continue for now; but I also discovered (after using khteditor), Khertan has a...

Re: [ANNOUNCE] KhtEditor 1.0.3

There doesn't seem to be any help for this editor, unlike pygtkeditor. I've checked the usual ctrl- shortcuts but not found a 'goto line no.' one like pygtkeditor has or one or two others than the...

Re: Automate login to public access WiFi hotspots? Fon / BTWiFi

That sounds like an awkward setup! Do I understand that your machine downstairs is acting as the wifi access point for your BT/FON thing (you said it was sharing the router connection to ps3)?
If...

Re: mbarcode

Well, I've had this on my mind for ages now and back in early February after my last post, I set to work to see how hard it was to create a plugin. I got it running my code easily; that wasn't much...

Re: N900 facebook chat

I use the sms forwarding service/reply to emails from facebook and have them get sent to me. Simple, works on any phone, but not sure it works for casual chat and new conversations - you can tell how...

Re: mbarcode

I still use my N900 day to day and love mbarcode; recently wanted a way to use the bitcoin cryptocurrency more eaily on it; while I could install the regular packages, running the daemon would take...

Re: [Maemo 5] Possible to create app to scan UPC code & show lowest $$ in 1km radius?

Did the tutorial ever get written/materialise anywhere? The only thing I've seen so far is the thread on here with isbn_saver.py example, which is pretty useful (except that the .h defines included...

Re: KeePassX v2 for Maemo 5 Nokia N900

v2 (from February '13) used to work on CSSU/Stable for me, but now (since a forced fresh reflash of PR1.3 then upgraded to CSSU/Testing) using the same keepass db file runs ok but fails to import the...

Smile Re: Fixing USB port, before and after it is to late. (All info in one Thread) (See POST #1)

My N900 got bricked a few weeks ago after applying a cssu major upgrade and as my usb port had fallen out ages ago I wasn't able to reflash it. I'd survived on external battery chargers and multiple...

Re: [Announce][Backport] Tweetian for Maemo - Twitter client for N900

Re: Tweetian - Twitter Client for Harmattan [v1.8.0]a bit

Re: The mighty n900 week 2013 (Day 7 of 7)

In 2011 I knew 4 other people with an N900 (here in London, UK). You might expect something like it, but they are all software developer Linux geeks (as I am).

Since then, they've all except for...
