Re: Biohacking ...you ARE the accessory...

Well, it's a step in the direction of true biohacking, however these current things are just a nice packaging for RFID chips, my dog has had one of these in her neck for 8 years, and it does not make...

Re: the Fremantle Porting Task Force, or "how to run maemo on Neo900"

Well, the ultimative test would be to build fremantle entirely from available sources, and see how far we get.
Then prepare a list of needed blob binaries which the user has to rip out of an...

Re: [Announce] Python3.2 (3.2.3) on extras-devel

Does it? I thought Python 2.5 was the ultimate (horrible, IMO) example of optification on Maemo through mounting.

~ $ mount
rootfs on / type rootfs (rw)
ubi0:rootfs on / type ubifs...

Re: [Announce] Python3.2 (3.2.3) on extras-devel

A big +1 from me for this. A properly optified Python 3.2 should make the modRana Qt 5 & Python 3 based GUI (once I finally get it working) much more accessible to users. :)

Re: Panoramic Image Stitcher Application for N900

Indeed it does : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image_sensor_format

Sensor is 1/2.5" with width of 5.76 mm so you were 0.16mm off the mark. Not bad for a... what did you say.... "pano-newbie"?

Re: Panoramic Image Stitcher Application for N900

Today I took the highly scientific method of measuring it with a ruler. At an 11 cm distance from the target, I measured how much of the ruler fitted in the field of view. The result: 11.9 cm, in...

Re: [Everyone's feedback required] Which applications do we need on Fremantle?

These are the apps I've been dearly missing, in the order of preference:

1. A decent programmable calculator. There are a few in extras but frankly, the UI of most of them has a lot to be desired....

Re: [ANNOUNCE] CSSU-thumb thread - stable Thumb2 on N900

Correct, there is no change in "thumb" version of libx11-data compared to stock. But keep in mind the repos are supposed to be self-containing.

Anyway, I see there is some problem with that...

Re: [ANNOUNCE] CSSU-thumb thread - stable Thumb2 on N900

because libx11-data is a result of the same source package where libx11 is and cssu-thumb ships thumb-compiled libx11.

[Everyone's feedback required] Which applications do we need on Fremantle? Which of the existing need to be optified?

TL;DR - The list is on the bottom. We're talking only about apps for N900 (Maemo Fremantle). This thread is neither about Sailfish nor Harmattan

It's loosely connected to what we were discussing...

Re: Wheezy, Debian 7, aka Maemo Reloaded
