Re: Incompatible application package, red pill mode and updating

at the moment, core OS - rather than pkg - updates require reflash. The new OS, expecting very soon, included with the Wimax n810, but also to be available for existing n800/n810, will introduce a...

Re: Incompatible application package, red pill mode and updating

you can also get apt-get to tell you what it would do, without doing it:

apt-get update && apt-get -s upgrade

then pick the apps you want to update.

just to note: I've never used red pill,...

Re: N800 + OS2008 + MMC boot (this worked for me)

you need to add a new pkg repository: http://repository.maemo.org, I believe.

If you don't know quite how to do that, shout and I'll add more detail.

Re: OMWeather Update available

thanks Vlad,

wonderful! that's great service indeed, thanks much.

Whilst I'm in favour, might I suggest an RFE, please? :)

Re: Cloning OS to SD Card: Simplified instructions

what do you mean by "go to" in "when I go to partition2 for mke2fs"? If you could post exactly what you're doing, and the responses you're getting, we can probably help.

Re: OMWeather Update available

thanks Vlad.

Re: N800 - Setting the Hardware Clock??

here's how:

/mnt/initfs/usr/bin/retutime --rtc-from-system

you can use:

/mnt/initfs/usr/bin/retutime --get-time

to check the current RTC clock time, too.
