Re: Sailfish OS (officially) on Sony Xperia devices

I'm afraid the XA2 has slower CPU. Not that I know if anyone would notice, because the X isn't that efficient in using all cores when needed. But basically XA2 is a cheaper model.

Re: Sailfish Android version update

Note that in Finland we don't have the Swedish BankID. That is a totally different system that requires Android/iOS/Mac/Windows and doesn't even work on Linux PCs due to lack of software. In Finland...

/usr/share/maliit/plugins/com/jolla/HwrLayout.qml belongs to the package jolla-keyboard (not jolla-keyboard-hwr).

Re: Sailfish OS (officially) on Sony Xperia devices

Meanwhile, you get rather quickly used to scp or rsync. Besides, rsync is totally awesome compared to any other file transfer. Unison would be another option, but I haven't looked if it compiles on...

Re: 2.1.3.x / Kymijoki (Early Access)

I haven't done this in Sailfish, but I'm doing it a lot in GNU Linux. Short instructions that should apply mostly in Jolla, too:

Setup the rpm build environment (see guides).
Grab the source...

Re: The new QWERTY device project

That would only be possible with the i.MX6 or i.MX8 that Purism has chosen for its future phone. And that requires separate modem. Native Linux on ARM outside of the embedded space is hard mostly...

Re: [UNOFFICIAL GUIDE] Flash Sailfish X using Linux or MacOS

That is really strange. I did hold the volume-up first, and it didn't blink blue (it was red or something else). The flash command just stopped there, waiting. Then I did it the other way and it...

Re: Sailfish OS (officially) on Sony Xperia devices

Lock screen sound level is ridiculously high when unlocking the phone screen. How do you turn the sound level down? It doesn't react to the volume level in settings (same as Volume Up/Down).

I...

They are targeting exactly the right group of people so far. Linux enthusiasts. They can only hope that there are about 33% more of them. The world needs more of them too.
