Re: [ANNOUNCE] Apache 2.4.7 Maemo (N900)

Fortunately autotools/automake bastardry was unnecessary for building Apache. Was just a matter of building apr, apr-util, and apache in that order in FREMANTLE_ARMEL scratchbox, putting modules and...

Re: [ANNOUNCE] Apache 2.4.7 Maemo (N900)

That doesn't sound too bad actually. The only thing I've tried to build in my scratchbox so far is Pulseaudio and it needed updated autoconf/automake, and it wasn't immediately clear or obvious on...

Re: [ANNOUNCE] Apache 2.4.7 Maemo (N900)

Finally got around to trying these packages :)

This appears to have been built against libssl1.0.0, and none of my thumb/community repos had a good package for this. The waemo/wheezy on maemo...

Re: Neo900 - finally a successor of N900

AFAICT there is no mobile platform that supports this, and even if there were the encryption would need to be tied back into kernel hardware drivers. Whether on my iPad, N900, or iPhone, battery life...

Re: [ANNOUNCE] Apache 2.4.7 Maemo (N900)

The last time I tried to build Apache with SSL for N900, it was sad times... got crap about 64-bit integers not existing, and the Debian chroot was the easier solution.

You know what though?...

Re: [ANNOUNCE] Apache 2.4.7 Maemo (N900)

Does this happen to be built with OpenSSL? If so, I don't need one of my Debian chroots anymore :)

Cheers,
Justin

Turning N900/Maemo into USB Audio device

Lately I've had luck making N900 a BT Audio receiver. D-Bus tweaks and interface stuff coming soon :)

To complete the cycle, I'm wondering how feasible it would be for the N900 to also be a USB...

Re: N900 in bootloop + not able to go into update mode.

Yeah, this happened to me once too. Don't remember whether I needed a new battery or a charger for my battery, but either of those things work.

Re: Neo900 - finally a successor of N900

Has anyone spent time with audio jacks on the GTA04 when plugged into USB? It's a super-common problem for USB devices to have noise on the audio outputs while plugged into USB power.

I also...

Re: Using N900 as bluethoot music receiver

It turns out "Profile=General" must be turned on for the N900 to work as a Bluetooth receiver.

The silent profile on N900 mutes many pulseaudio modules that would otherwise be turned on,...

Re: Using N900 as bluethoot music receiver

I've made small modifications to ZedThou's script, and I get bluetooth connections to the N900, but "pactl list" reports ridiculous latency between the BT Source and the module-loopback, and no audio...

Re: Is digital audio possbile over n900 usb???

The friction involved in charging the battery and unplugging the USB Audio interface when more power is needed, makes USB+Digital Audio a non-starter for me. Once I've got the N900 in-line doing...

Re: Is digital audio possbile over n900 usb???

Practically, even if you have digital audio over USB on N900 you still need to power your phone! I don't believe anyone's presented a solution for dealing with signal as well as powering the phone,...

Re: Neo900 - finally a successor of N900

With a quality stereo line-in I would pay 600 euros for this, no question. I've wanted stereo line-in on N900 for so long!

Are there any estimates on how well the old N900 batteries will power...

Re: [Announce] Orecchiette - an all-purpose audio recording app

Some folks have talked about having separate controls for the Mic fader versus the system Volume. Rather than making this an Orecchiette feature, this seems like a job for a system daemon similar to...

Re: Lilypond for n900?

Would love to have lilypond on N900 -- but building it from source on the device proved to be beyond my skill as well. Even when it did build with the correct confluence of guile, tex, and lilypond...

Re: Will 64GB microSD fit in N900?

When you mount FAT32 in Linux, your mount options and /etc/fstab file determine who owns the files. You're right that chown/chmod/chgrp are meaningless for files on a FAT32 filesystem.

If the...

Re: [Announce] CSSU Testing thread

Looking forward to testing Bluetooth audio source functionality. N900 can now be a Bluetooth speaker or receiver for audio from another device. :)

Re: Faster Booting Nokia N900

Very very true, especially Blackberry. Phone power buttons tend to lie these days -- even the N900, with its alarms that still work as the device is "powered off".

The question that follows from...

Re: [HOWTO]Watch 720p videos on n900 [09.12.2011 VIDEOCALL WORKS]

freemangordon, the new libgstdsp works brilliantly. No dots, and movies start more quickly. Finally, VNC into N900 works well for playing many H264 movies in sequence. Many many thanks!

Re: [ANNOUNCE] Alpha release of Open Media Player

OMP has many great improvements compared to the stock media player. One of the nicest things is how the music lists populate more quickly than the stock player.

However, for more than about 4000...

Re: [ANNOUNCE] CSSU-thumb thread - stable Thumb2 on N900

I did an apt-get upgrade before reading freemangordon's recent message. I did a devil-may-care reboot of my device with libgcc 4.7 and friends, to try and fix skype, and it came back OK.

Lucky me...

Re: [ANNOUNCE] CSSU-thumb thread - stable Thumb2 on N900

Installed CSSU-thumb, and it scared me -- there was never an extra application icon to run for the follow-up package installs, so I had to judiciously upgrade X and install kernel-cssu through...
