Re: Sailfish OS (officially) on Sony Xperia devices

Get your daughter an iPhone 5s. It's still powerful enough to last for another year or two and is 4''. IIRC, jailbreak is available for it too.

Re: Sailfish OS (officially) on Sony Xperia devices

If it is for your daughter and you have no intention of running Sailfish on it, rather stay away from Xperia. They are mostly junk devices that are over-priced and have potato cameras.

Re: The choice of OS of the new QWERTY device project

IMO, AOSP should be the OS of choice to ship the device with but are there really enough people wanting a HW keyboard for such a project to be feasible? Also what use does a HW keyboard have on...

Re: Sailfish OS on Sony Xperia (official)

I have had the Xperia Z-Z5 and this open hardware thing of Sony is just hogwash. Most of the time, the SW is not properly optimised or camera has missing drivers for months. For example, the Z3 I...

Re: [App request} Signal - secure textmessaging- for Nokia N9

Signal discourages third party apps from using their servers so I don't think you have much luck getting someone interested.

Re: [Forum] Restructuring, Ideas, Changes

IIRC, those posting links weren't bots but actual people so they could very well go spam the hello thread then create new threads.

I think the restriction as proposed by mrsellout combined with...

Re: Sailfish on Turing Phones?

Maybe he is linked to TRI hence he has a phone to post about. It wouldn't be surprising for TRI to engage in such PR stunts given their past fluff.

Re: Intex Aqua Fish (possible) launch

It could simply be that Intex have "unofficially" handed over these devices to such sellers so that they don't have to be responsible for any warranty claims etc while also technically not being in...

Re: Oysters SF is the most advanced Sailfish OS phone to date

Nope. That old sd801 is a more powerful chip than the nonsense MediaTek regularly churns out. The MT6753 is an octa core of low performance A53 cores. It's role is to be in low end devices or to be...

Re: Jolla C

No they aren't unless you count being quad core a similarity. The Nexus 4 has a S4 Pro chip which is a Qualcomm designed chip with Krait cores similar in performance to the A15 core by ARM.

The A7...

It will be interesting to see how the Jolla C runs Android apps with the pos that is the Snapdragon 212. Even the Jolla has a better SOC with two Krait 300 cores instead of 4 low powered A7 cores now...

Re: Discussion over the Design, Features, and Rollout of Jolla's new Tablet, Assuming that it isn't a Figment of our Collective Imagination

This thread has gone downhill since somewhile (thanks in no small part to Foxkia) hence it is being moved to Off-topic so that it doesn't appear in active topics with lame posts.
