Perhaps you should make the music player larger? The small buttons might make it hard to press them.
Also can you integrate "unread messages" & "missed" with swipe gesture?

The sliding/unlocking button should be placed in slighly higher position.IMHO N900's resistive screen isn't the most responsive at it's edge.

Actually the 256MB rootfs memory is more or less enough.I've done quite a bit of modification with my N900 & I still have 53MB of free space left.
You CANNOT enlarge/repartition or do whatever...
