Re: Fortran for Sailfish OS ?

Yes, it's that significant :)

Mer uses OBS and dependency based rebuilds. When bootstrapping or when updating very low level packages gcc is rebuilt many times as dependency loops are resolved...

Re: Fortran for Sailfish OS ?

FWIW this is a Mer issue, not a Jolla one IMHO

mer-core plain gcc should not build fortran - it's not part of the core and adds a lot of overhead in the wrong place

my suggested approach (ie...

Re: Sailfish absorb Mer?

It's always worth asking these questions - actually we discussed Mer and Jolla quite a bit at FOSDEM :)

Moving Mer into Sailfish would have pros and cons - feel free to discuss.

I will suggest...

Re: New Q&A site for Jolla/SailfishOS

Why block app developers based on the language and framework they choose to use?

It's a valid request from users that they want android apps to be distinct - but, for example, I (kinda) use an...

@mikecomputing:

As a proof-of-concept this:
https://build.merproject.org/project/show?project=sailfishos%3Achum%3A1.0.1.10

could be maemo-autobuilder and maemo-extras

Re: New Q&A site for Jolla/SailfishOS

I agree it needs some organisation... Low started something and I commented here:

This is the gallery issue AFAICT:

When sharing screenshots pull down and "Include Metadata" ... that avoids the...

Re: A significant day in community governance?

Hey, seriously ... this should be possible. I'm not going to try but I'm sure we'll work with any nutters that want to. Issues would probably be around the potential redistribution of the binaries...

Re: A significant day in community governance?

OK ... I've tried to answer some points here.

TIme is limited and I think this is mainly a meego issue so I'm off to try and help out over there.

Clearly I care about the future of maemo.org...

Re: A significant day in community governance?

Don't blame you one bit. My wife uses maemo and I wouldn't ask her to use MeeGo yet - every point you make is true (well, "won't" in 2 isn't quite right if you're on the N900 ....)

OTOH I was...

Re: A significant day in community governance?

And now you have the next step - (almost) totally open MeeGo development ...

So - that was nothing to do with Nokia. Purely a MeeGo/LF issue.

Re: A significant day in community governance?

Well I have to take some blame for that.

My gut response was "this can't be right ... someone doesn't understand... lets not cause alarm"

So I think it was me who suggested we try to resolve it...

Re: A significant day in community governance?

I wasn't entirely clear. The phone call was long and during it the justification was that individually contributed apps are not subject to the same review as those apps that end up in meego or the...

LF will not permit apps.meego.com : say hello to apps.formeego.org

Over the past few weeks a few of us who have been involved in the MeeGo community infrastructure have been trying to solve a problem relating to MeeGo Apps : apps.meego.com

Smile [POSSIBLE FIX] Re: Bluetooth just stopped working on N900?

Old thread I know - this is search fodder really.

simple answer : power off, remove battery for a while (a minute), restart.

I've just had this problem and after much hunting it seems that if...
