Re: Sailfish on Turing Phones?

Reading thru some of the comments in other places around the web about this, I wonder if there's something of a hurdle with Android going forward that contradicted what Turing was no longer able to...

Re: Sailfish on Turing Phones?

Of things talked about here which are not talked about as nicely anymore... or at least how I used to remember this community, this is some good news.

if I go down the route of needing a new...

Re: The TIZEN Thread

Greetings TMO, been a long time. Stumbling into this thread because these days I'm carrying the Tizen-wearable, the Gear S.

Its interesting to read all of your thoughts towards Tizen. At the same...

Re: [Announce][WIP] Warehouse - native client for OpenRepos.net

You ever read back your long posts and go, "dang that was a lot?" Yea, I'm getting that feeling now... especially because of how gracious @Custodian was in the response.

You got it. Only show...

Re: [Commercial] Rockwatch - Pebble smart watch support for the N9

Yes, I've looked at Sowatch, and see both RW and Sowatch as concurrent projects, even if they aren't answering things in the same way. What can I say, I see the intents for making things work on the...

Re: [Announce][WIP] Warehouse - native client for OpenRepos.net

Hello and greetings;
Been using OpenRepos (app and service) for a bit, but don't think I've said all that much. I'm pretty hard on UX/UI items, and knowing where things are with the project kind of...

Re: [Backcover] Jolla's "Other Half" - Ideas and Suggestions

Not a very usable design. I know that the mockup tries to fit in everything that's been recommended so far, but it could do with some simplifying. Here are some thoughts I've got after looking at it...

Re: [Commercial] Rockwatch - Pebble smart watch support for the N9

While I'm pretty sure that something like "updating the Bluetooth stack on the N9" is a bit far reaching of a feature request, would it help this effort if there was some kind of configuration...

Re: [Commercial] Rockwatch - Pebble smart watch support for the N9

dang... latest developments are kinda hot. I'm using a Polar Loop right now, but this might make me pick up a Pebble a good bit faster than I figured I'd get a new one.

Seriously, this is nice...

Re: Jolla User Experience Thread

Has anyone with the Jolla *not* installed any Android apps our even the Android Davlik VM?

Wondering what Jolla is like at its base UX?

And if its not usable without it, what apps services are...

Re: Jolla User Experience Thread

It shouldn't require a forum ora community to get a device purchased into a productive state. It should take a tutorial.

The worth of a platform shouldn't be found in apps or services from...

Thanks for your answers. Appreciated, and I'm sure that some others will find gems in them as well.

Re: Jolla User Experience Thread

The size of the display isn't the limitation, the angle of the diagonal is - size ratio if I want to over-simplify it. In my latter years as a device reviewer (BargainPDA, Brighthand, Nokia Blogger...

Re: Nemomobile glacier UI. anyone seen it ?

Let's refine that, because some apps might actually benefit from that in such an app view:
- tap and hold on the top left or right corner of the app in the multi-tasking view and it will close
-...

Re: What Applications would you like to see on Sailfish Devices?

SSH is great. I'm not being sarcastic either in saying that.
The next time you teach the meat of the market how to do SSH will be the first time it was taught.

Design for your consumers to come,...

Re: Jolla User Experience Thread

The reason why you aren't given an infinite, or multiple, points of creating your own UX entry points is because that means the entire platform has to be built using all of those points - most of...

Re: Jolla User Experience Thread

While a nice idea... it breaks the UI paradigm. The device is supposed to be fully usable w/one hand. This usually means 1 finger (since it takes 3 and thumb to support it in hand).

2 finger...
