Re: OS2008 Garnet Vm deb's anyone?

The file size for my garnet-vm_1.0.6b_ITOS2008_armel.deb original copy is 1287786 and its sha1sum is 18cbfd45761be343a4182968b286ab74511db6b9. If you wanted to verify your copy hasn't been tampered...

Re: Newest Image for 810

I bought a microSD for mine and it came with a miniSD adapter. See if any microSDs come with one or try to just find the adapter by itself.

Re: Newest Image for 810

That is the correct firmware file and your device already has it installed. You need to install the CSSU next and then the diablo turbo kernel. After that I suggest installing a bootmenu and cloning....

Re: N8x0's in 2019!

Do you insert the CD in the slot between keyboard and screen? ;)

I ripped my CDs, copied the ogg files to the n810 and played with xmms or mplayer.

Re: [Announce] advanced-systemui (ASUI)

Nokia's battery indicator lies to you, ASUI does not. There is nothing wrong with your battery. Nokia's hardware/software somehow determines a max value that is different for every battery. My...

Re: OS messed?

Finding damage on the cable would have been too easy. There is no way pliers could remove the screws, but I might have to try superglue.

Re: OS messed?

No, ASUI replaces and pretends to be systemui, having both running together would cause issues. I also can't add a feature to blank the screen or adjust backlight while in charging because the screen...

Re: OS messed?

The binary is loaded into memory at boot, and uses 1-2megs of ram that would only unload if the device was swapping. If it did swap, you wouldn't see anything until it had been fully loaded into...

Re: OS messed?

@endsormeans
Do you have ASUI on any of your n800's and does the slide feature have a broken image?

Re: OS messed?

ASUI is probably the smallest program on your device, the storage speed wouldn't matter. When does this blue-pattern screen appear? During boot? When you press the battery on statusbar? When...

I know it was just a loose plug but...

The charging screen is displayed by systemui or ASUI in runlevel 5. Normal desktop mode is runlevel 2. There are symlinks in /etc/rc5.d/ that point to...

Yes.

If I recall correctly, updating in appman always took ages.

Re: PySide on N8x0

You said you already compiled it and needed to package it up. To do that, you need a debian directory inside the source. You can find one and modify, or write your own.

Re: PySide on N8x0

Does it have a debian directory in the source? If not, try copying one from the old source in repos. Then run the following command while inside the source directory. And it should produce a .deb...

Re: OS2008 Garnet Vm deb's anyone?

Double negative, you do have it! ;)

I have the file and would love to share, but it was never available for public download, therefore I can't.

Re: OS2008 Garnet Vm deb's anyone?

Isn't an entire lifetime a limited period of time? Does the EULA define what that period is? Distributing something you received a link to via email is clearly illegal and the EULA confirms that, but...

Re: N800 users 2017

CSSU and diablo turbo kernel are newer than OS2008 but they aren't "more modern". They just fix some issues and add a few optimizations.

Re: Modern adventures with N810

You want community SSU and diablo turbo kernel. Both can be found at http://maemo.qzx.com/, along with cloning instructions.

Re: Modern adventures with N810

The n810 has 256meg and 2gig internal flash, the OS is installed to the 256meg. You need to install a boot menu and clone the 256meg partition to the 2gig or 64gig partitions. This not only gives you...

Re: Should I buy new N810 ten years after release?

The N810 has a larger screen and can run ASUI. ;)

I used mine everyday to read web pages until it broke yesterday. :(
