Exactly. Without the huge application collection windows is just a rather lame window manager with IE.
Windows NT was ported to MIPS, Alpha, PowerPC and Itanium and none of those sold.

It is not just the protocol.. It is the amount of activity you have. If you have lots of friends in MSN and only few in skype, MSN will eat more battery as your friends log in/log out/change status.
