Re: Bloomberg Terminal like s/w for NITs
How about someone who coded for a Bloomberg Terminal.
There's no way possible, period, to grab information from the bloomberg website, or any website, and provide what the terminal provides. ...

Re: Pidgin or RTCOMM?
Not that Pidgin is bad or anything, but RTCOMM's integration into the IT is freakin superb.
One thing I'd love to see with RTCOMM is DirectIM support for AIM, for no other reason than it'd be...

Re: Cover art in Media Player?
Have you tried MediaBox? I've gotten it to do media covers... unfortunately it has kinetic scrolling, which you don't seem to like. :)

Re: Battery percent time left?
Clearly you've never spent any time with a S60 phone...
Ah the joys of watching the battery meter go from Full down to 2 out of 7 bars. :)

Re: os2008 on n800: still a beta
That's a tad pedantic... it's definitely a bug and it definitely has destroyed my files...
On the other hand, I'm very grateful to Nokia for fixing the bug so that it only destroys my files and...

Re: Best Music and Video Player for OS2008
I'd recommend you check out MediaBox:
http://mediabox.garage.maemo.org/
It's newish and there's clearly work still to be done, but so far I like it. It uses MPlayer for video playback, so...

Hahahahahaha!
"Nokia actually did some planning". How adorable.
This is the company that's released firmware that's bricked phones, and for years released fantastic smartphones without enough...

Re: Lockups under 2008 OS
I had the *exact* same issue with OS2007.. I never did figure out what was causing it, but it always seemed to have issues when I launched Canola. A reflash fixed the issue (altho I never...

Re: Canola2 Now Out!
Out of curiosity, why don't you use the crawler that's on the system, or give us an option to disable the system crawler in favor of your crawler?

Re: Canola2 Now Out!
Does anyone know if this version of Canola has it's own crawler like the old version did? And does it still require you to change settings thru a web interface?
If so... meh..

I have had the exact same problem with the OS2008 beta, and never had this issue with OS2007 using the same equipment. Something new and evil has been introduced with OS2008... and it likes to eat...

Maybe those N-Series staffers could work on making phones that aren't buggy rather than... whatever that was.

Re: Opera for OS2008?
Is it? If I'm losing some capability, and I certainly am, it's not adequate compared to what I had before. It's buggy, it's slower, and it crashes. Compared to the old opera, it's a step...

Re: Opera for OS2008?
I think we've got a winner.
Opera is very good at working on devices with small memory footprints. They've spent years developing Opera to run on smartphones, embedded devices, and so on. ...

Re: Opera for OS2008?
So in the meantime, we should suffer with a browser that crashes more than the old one? A browser that's slower than the old one?
Some improvement.

Re: Opera for OS2008?
Funny, MicroB chokes hard on some Yahoo sites (Yahoo Sports) that Opera handled just fine. If I can't trust MicroB to bring me the scores... sigh.
MicroB also seems slower than Opera, the...
