i had the same issue (see page 28 & 29 of this thread) ... i ran Sociality in x-term (go to terminal and type /usr/bin/sociality) and got a few error messages ("can't fetch news/places" etc)

Places stopped working for me ... worked well a week ago ... now i do get a gps lock, but there are no entrys shown when i tap "check in"

I'm having the same issue ... it says about 900 emails, but there are only a few ones ...
the option for leaving messages on the server is set ...
deleted the account and configured a new one ......

havent tried installing SleepAnalyser via apt-get
that worked ... downloaded libpcre3 and libspeex1 and installed with dpkg ... SleepAnalyser installed!

ok, flashed the new firmware and then the new eMMC ...
went through without errors, but it did have only "□" instead of numbers and characters for entering the PIN and the layout was a bit messed...
