TOHOLED and TOHKBD2 issues were caused by udev rule starting the daemon and blocking stuff. This was fixed in previous update for tohkbd2, but now also fixed for toholed. (0.4.18 pushed for Harbour...

install mce-tools package, and run
evdev_trace -t
and check is there extra CTRL key presses... look for something like this:
...EV_KEY - 0x01d/KEY_LEFTCTRL - 1
