For those who use the Perseus kernel, I strongly advice to stick to version 33.4, because more recent versions have problems of lagging, at least on my own device.

I still have both (Note 1 went to wife), and must say that Note 2 is definitely snappier, and has significantly longer battery life.

No crashes. Google maps has some issues, and the main is the need for mobile connectivity for routing and showing maps; but its maps seem more recent.

Note 2 is insanely fast. No problem in rooting and transferring apps through Titanium backup. Only nuisance, I had to cut my sim card into a microsim.
Why I am here, go try 'naked browser'....

Whatever ROM you're using, try Gavin Lewarne's HydraCore kernel.
It's devilishly fast, can overclock & undervolt your device, is stable, did I say it's fast? :-) comes with full sources and scripts...
