Re: [Announce] Wazapp Public Beta for N9

With some more testing I found that if you completely close Wazapp and then open it, the cpu usage of the wazapp process stays at zero and the current consumption is fine. However, after sending a...

Re: [Announce] Wazapp Public Beta for N9

I don't have the pulseaudio process chipping away at the battery but the wazapp process itself is constantly using 1-2% of the cpu. Looking at energy profiler, the baseline idle consumption is also...

Re: Facebook App Update 1.3.2+0m8 -> 1.4.0-1+0m7

Is it just me or is the loading of comments less buggy with the new version?

Re: [Testing needed] FasterN9

Yes looks like it's working with PR1.3 just fine.

And for those wondering, no, PR1.3 didn't make the UI any smoother.

Re: Why is push email draining battery ?

Push mail works fine with a single MfE account at least, the server initiates some sort of sync every 30 minutes but for the rest of the time there's no packets going in or out and the 3G radio...

Unsolicited traffic on 3G networks affecting battery life

I noticed that sometimes there's quite a bit of unsolicited traffic coming to my public ip address while on 3G, like udp packets from random addresses and some weird traffic from Google servers. I'm...

Re: [Announce] Wazapp Public Beta for N9

Since Wazapp seems to use quite a bit of battery when it's just idling on 3G connection, I did some investigations using Energy Profiler. In particular, I found that every 3 minutes, i.e. during each...

Re: [New Version][Testing needed] FasterN9

Cyan 16 GB N9, North-Europe vanilla version with firmware 30.2012.07-1_PR_001.

The messaging app has always been kind of slow to open for some reason.

Re: [New Version][Testing needed] FasterN9

I wonder if doing a soft-reboot instead of one using the power button might have something to do with this?

Re: [New Version][Testing needed] FasterN9

Yup. I tried to use the rescue kernel method to see if something was borked with the files touched by the postrm script or something but didn't get that to work so I just did a reflash.

Of course...

Re: [New Version][Testing needed] FasterN9

An error on reboot saying the device is malfunctioning, need to reflash after that.

Re: [New Version][Testing needed] FasterN9

Looking at the list of processes, I don't see grob -prestart or fenix -prestart (grob = browser, fenix = email), I'm fairly sure I have seen them there before so maybe that's why they are starting so...

Re: [New Version][Testing needed] FasterN9

In the new version some of the core apps open much slower than by default, the browser, phone, email for example. I think these are the ones preloaded by booster, any change this mod somehow borks...

Re: overclocking kernel modules + UI for PR1.2 [ko v1.5.2] [ui v1.0]

Humdum, just got a crash after more than five days of stable usage, looks like it's quite hard to verify that the settings are completely stable.

Re: overclocking kernel modules for PR1.2 [v1.4]

Sorry I meant that if I try to set the voltage lower than the default (1.1875 V for me) it doesn't have any effect, the voltage will stay at the default. I think it's the same issue discussed here...

Re: overclocking kernel modules for PR1.2 [v1.4]

Are you implying that the actual voltage is the one given by the dyn_nominal variable? From what I've read that's not the case, dyn_nominal is the voltage at which SmartReflex starts a new round of...

Re: overclocking kernel modules for PR1.2 [v1.4]

That's pretty good. What is your voltage at stock clocks? In theory that should also correlate with how good the particular chip is if SmartReflex does what it's supposed to.

Re: overclocking kernel modules for PR1.2 [v1.4]

If you used the modules of Creamy Goodness directly the voltage will be automatically bumped up to the maximum (1.375 V) when clocking higher than 1.1 GHz, unless overridden. You can check the...
