N900 not being detected by Nexus 7

I'm trying to get my N900 detected by my Nexus 7, I can connect other usb devices (mouse, flash drives, etc), yet if I connect my N900 it isn't detected. ie; No "plugged in" icon on the N900, lsusb...

Progress has stopped until I get the parts and find a way to attach the case.

On a different note, I bought a Nikon D5100 and two lenses, so once I get the mount I have glass to test with.

I am using a real Nikon lens mount, I just don't have one yet. I'll have it screw into the metal case.

O nice. When mine is done the OEM lens will be taken out, too. Hotswappable would be nice, but I don't think I could do that.

I decided for my next time waster, I'll be attaching a Nikon SLR F mount to my N900. I wouldn't trust the flimsy plastic case to hold a lens without the whole back cover falling off, though. So first...

I wasn't talking about the stripes, they're odd. I just meant in general, that's what I tend to end up having to do to get "decent" pictures at night.

I've gotten a "virtual webcam" working, step 1 done.
Now to get it to show an image, that'll be step 2.
Then to add networking and shoot out images from gstreamer.
