Re: Xperia XA2 vs X

IIRC, bits of Linage OS are used by Sailfish OS/libhybris to provide hardware adaptation/android drivers for a device. So Lineage OS supporting a device means it is more likely to be supported in the...

Re: Xperia XA2 vs X

It really depends. I would say that for "normal" smartphone usage in 2018 2-3 GB RAM should be enough, especially if applications are reasonably optimized (eq. drop non-critical resources when they...

Re: 2.2.1.18 Nurmonjoki

Even if you consider the slightly different usecase - a deskstop/laptop vs a mobile device you use for call/take photos/send SMS/as an alarm/email/etc. and possibly less technical users for mobile...

Re: 2.2.1.18 Nurmonjoki

IIRC it basically preloads some of the QT related libraries so apps that are using the booster correctly should start faster and share the libraries (even though that should happen anyway with...

Re: [Announce] Native offline maps: OSM Scout Server

I don't think it needs to be nearby - the user could reasonably supply any coordinate, not necessarily something that is close to current position. It could be some interesting landmark they want to...

Re: [Announce] Native offline maps: OSM Scout Server

Base on modRana user feedback I recently got an idea (or possibly even RFE) - would it make sense if the OSM Scout Server Location search API could also parse geographic coordinates ?

The general...

For issue 1) you can try this unofficial and unsupported community guide:

For issue number 2) - I guess...

Re: Pure Maps

For comparison, modRana has both a "clear all" button as well as option to only clear all search results or all POI currently shown on map or all tracklogs.

(Note that even if you clear a POI...

Re: [Announce] modRana: a flexible GPS navigation system

modRana 0.52.18 has been released !

This is still a rather small update that adds support for deleting individual stored POI and makes creation of new POI more intuitive.

Changelog

Re: Sailfish OS on Sony Xperia X Compact (community build)

Nice, I have some friends who have an X compact, one of them even running the community image at the moment. :)

Re: Sailfish OS (officially) on Sony Xperia devices

The difficulty of Sailfish X installation really depends on if you want to backup the TA partition (so that you can return the device to original state, for example for easier warranty repair) or...

Cool, I'm just downloading the update to check for that. :D

Re: Pure Maps

It's something like palette swapping doable for SVG ? I works fine for games to differentiate players with the same model so I guess the same mechanism could be used to palette swap icons/indicators...

Re: Purism Librem Phone

Still, I think an open source & hardware feature phone has been in the real of possibility for quite a while already so it's surprising such project has not showed up earlier.

An open device...

Re: [Announce] modRana: a flexible GPS navigation system

I've recently finished decoupling the map page API from the pinchmap based implementation. This way I should be able to integrate another map widget quite easily while keeping pinchmap based one...

Re: WhoGo Maps fork looks for name and visual identity
