Re: About Lumia & Windows Phone discussions

I wouldn't include you in the conversation about what to do, frankly. It's not important enough, and you aren't just another bloke with an opinion.

Re: Convince me the N9 is better than the N900

I suspect that OP knew the answer to the question before he even asked it, since the answer is quite obvious. The N9 is not a suitable replacement for the N900, except in those cases where the user...

Re: Meltemi - Lightweight Linux based os from Nokia

If Nokia ever deliver it (and since they're not even acknowledging it currently that's a long way at best) then I might have a look at it. Until then it's just another piece of vapourware.

Re: Maemo buyout by the community??

Sweet FA.. About 40% Open.

The best option seems to be to move toward Meego and make it fit users needs. If the source is fully open (or ever can be) then try get it working on OTHER, faster...

Re: Tizen?

That depends.

The most annoying and wrong-headed thing about MeeGo is their promotion of Qt as the preferred (and sometimes 'required') native toolkit.

Linux-with-Qt-required isn't Linux, it's...

Re: Tizen?

Looks like nothing has changed.
This is Harmattan without Qt support, and the overlay of API's has been changed to support HTML5 directly. So its basically a cloud computing system, not unlike...

Re: Adobe Flash Player 10: When will the update arrive? Is it coming at all?

I noticed a couple of problems with the webtop version of Flash 10:

1. You can't exit fullscreen videos with backspace anymore, but ctrl+backspace still works.

2. The performance is horrible -...

Re: Adobe Flash Player 10: When will the update arrive? Is it coming at all?

Its a start, but its no where near what I had hoped. Youtube for one is limited to 240p, and is fairly laggy.

Re: What is aegis [MSSF] and how does it affect Free Software development?

Nah, you got your timelines mixed up. MeeGo 1.2 release came after Feb11.

Anyway.

For freedom lovers, if:
* SIM lock isn't active
* Security lock isn't active (you know, pincode, protecting...

Re: What is aegis [MSSF] and how does it affect Free Software development?

The problem with this approach to security, is that it is more appealing to big systems (governments, corporations, etc) who actually own the many headsets of the employees. From that point this...

Re: Nokia wants new CEO: Report

Before you jump the gun, I'm not taking up for dan, he's a man himself; however you do know that many apply the same logic to you.

For instance... you speak about FOSS, yet you love Bada. It uses...

Re: What is aegis [MSSF] and how does it affect Free Software development?

As the video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hPyqRObDX3c) pointed out at the end... they already decided not to trust you. So, if they don't trust you, why should you trust them?
