Re: GeoCaching Beginner Questions
That's great news that you found one.
I can't say I blame the developer. Any GPS application is only going to be as good as the data it gets.
I've tried any number of gps applications on the...

Re: N810: How do you carry yours?
Your n810 will come with a bracket that will allow you to mount it in your car. I took that and a piece of 5" PVC pipe and created an arm mount. It stays in place quite well. I've even managed to...

Re: GeoCaching Beginner Questions
We use a two-pronged approach with the n810 and an eXplorist 500. GPXview has much more information than is stored in our gps unit. I've made this ridonkulous gauntlet affair to hold the n810 on my...

Re: I'm going to make an N8x0 armband case
I made one that is tough, highly functional and too absurdly geeky to wear in public. I used the car gps mount and about 8 inches of really big PVC pipe.
I wanted a way to carry the 810 where...

Software Upgrade issues
Last night I noticed my n810 had several updates ready. The application ones worked fine, but the update to the os failed because of two dependencies. I don't have the n810 with me today so I can't...

Re: How water proof is the n810?
I use my n810 for geocaching a lot. I've built the geekiest arm mount ever using the dashboard mount that came with it. It's very convenient, but it is also totally exposed to weather and the...

Re: Maemo (or maemo.org?) mascot proposal
As I recall, pendrivelinux used a photo of somebody's cute red-headed girlfriend.
I'm sure there's someone out in the community endearing enough to be the mascot, if not perhaps male and female...

Re: N810 for $150 on NokiaUSA.com
Looks like the fun might be over. :(
I found it, added it to my shopping cart and it came out to $171 but was back ordered. When I entered the coupon code CARTP409N my shopping cart was emptied.

Re: Help on MC for Newbie
This could be two things. One, you may need to manually clear out the app manager cache. I don't have the URL of that thread handy.
I believe you might need to be root, delete the cache and then...

Re: Any tried any Fricition Car Mount for N800?
Radio Shack has a friction mount that has a little velcro strap for holding down cables. If I pull out the kickstand for the n810 and attach it to the velcro strap it stays put.
I've had one...

Re: N810 as hiking/outdoors GPS?
I tried using it for looking for a geocache last week. The GPS is accurate enough for driving, but looking for an exact spot in the woods it was pretty sketchy.

Re: Shopping in Boston
Yeah, Microcenter is the place in the city.
If you have transport I'd suggest getting to a CompUSA in either Nashua or Salem NH. NH has no sales tax and both stores are going out of business.
