Re: The Grand Nitdroid Thread - NITDroid Gone CE --> 2.3.7 Released [EXPERIMENTAL]

For anyone wondering about 2.3.7 - it's a tad on the buggy side, it randomly crashes / reboots and is visibly less responsive. In 2.3.4 flicking between desktops was very smooth, as was scrolling...

Re: The Grand Nitdroid Thread - NEW UPDATE! NITDroid-Installer 0.2.8-8 - Adds NITDroid Safe Removal Tool!

The links in fraad's posts above don't work. Here is the 2.3.7 update (http://downloads.nitdroid.com/e-yes/experimental/N12_update_2.3.7.tar.bz2)

Re: Bind known WLAN to phone cell ID, can save battery

It is doable :-)

You could hack together a script or two capable of doing this for you. Here (http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p=739840&postcount=25) is a python script that will output the cell...

Re: Usb dumper?

There isn't really any point in creating an application like this for a few reasons - I guess the primarily one is simply because we already have access to the full firmware from Nokia, the other...

Re: n900 swimming: now dead!

You should do a little research before you jump to gut instinct conclusions. An N900 in water for a few days could very well survive, in fact it probably would so long as the battery was removed and...

Re: n900 swimming: now dead!

It's always unfortunate when people recommend putting electronics in rice, rice is dusty and makes for a rather poor desiccating agent. It wont dry out your N900 any quicker than if you just put it...

What can happen? Depending upon what you do, it could be anything from a fine right up to jail time.

Re: help in n900 working globe proxy!!

Relax fella. You're on a public forum where writing in English is part of the overall policy. What you asked for is a violation of not only Globe's service, it is also called 'theft of service' which...

Re: help in n900 working globe proxy!!

The person is speaking in Tagalog - or rather "txt" speak in Tagalog. It bugs Filipino's just as much as it does everyone else in the world.

He (or she) is asking (very poorly) how to set up a...

Re: Something wrong with my n900?

The best thing to do is completely ignore it.

You should see how hot it gets when you run mobile hotspot - 3G and WiFi while downloading a torrent for a few hours - I haven't tried yet, but I'm...

Re: Very Bad and Strange Touch screen problem.

With 100% certainty this issue IS the screen protector. It's not 'worth a try' - the correct response is "Just remove it already and get a new one"

There are several threads that describe these...

Re: Problems to make calls. Is there any log to look at?

I don't know of any specific log file where network status is stored, unfortunately there isn't a whole lot of access to the baseband stuff, though you could install netmon (apt-get install netmon)...

Re: MyDocs file system is repairable?

I suspect you might have unintentionally made things a tad worse by killing fsck mid way through on the very first run unfortunately. Probably your best bet now is just to recover your files using...

Re: Problems to make calls. Is there any log to look at?

With the lack of any errors the problem more than likely is with the carrier and not your N900. It might be that they've linked the IMSI with the IMEI of the handset at their end - this sort of...

Re: can't open fbreader.....help

This happens to me from time to time, not able to start it from the icon.

The fix.

Open up an x-term window and type "FBReader" (without the quotes). You only need to do this once. After this...

Re: everyone should reflash their n900 in "my opinion"

Granted the N900 arrived from the factory with a bug or two in the firmware, but ultimately it is running Linux. Flashing the firmware is only needed for those that don't understand (or care) about...

Re: HELP ! fAirCrack cannot crack the WEP !

The guides for the N900 sort of gloss over the process a little bit. They are not wrong, but knowing more than which buttons to press and in what order is perhaps required knowledge. It is...

Re: Nokia N900's Flash 9.4 announcement... and why it bothers me.

You can get to the flash settings in much the same way you do on any other platform. Visit any site that has a flash element, poke your finger at it and hold it there for a few seconds, a menu will...

Re: Black Dots on Screen

Dust? It's pretty difficult to keep that stuff out once you expose the LCD.

Also depending upon how much you stripped down the N900 and handled the parts, you may well have damaged the screen too...

Re: Firefox fennec reads my n900 adressbook

Are you sure it's the address book being scanned or just the regular form completion throwing up previously entered values for the same html element name?

Technically there is nothing you could do...
