Re: [project] N900 Media center

I thought mplayer was *THE* holy grail of hw-accelerated media playback... stupid me! MAFW looks nice, but I was looking for an already built player to wrap a web API around and mplayer seemed like a...

Re: [Announce] cuteTube - A feature-rich YouTube client

There's been a problem with both cuteTube and cuteTube QML lately: every time I try to watch a video from a channel I am subscribed to I either get 'Video cannot be played.' or 'Unable to retrieve...

Re: [ANNOUNCE] cuteTube-QML - A feature-rich YouTube client

Hey guys, first post here - I don't know if it has been mentioned before, so I'll just assume it hasn't.

Last week I've been using cuteTube-QML extensively and I noticed/have a couple of...

Re: (Coming Soon) MaeMeeMo - A Meego/Nemo User Interface for Maemo5

Hey, great project. Do you have any numbers on how it affects performance - mem/cpu/battery?

Real-time test :) -

Changed the setting - memory full shows up
Installed package and rebooted
Opened camera-ui - image number fixed, changing settings does not recreate bug

Bugfix 1 confirmed...

Re: [Announce] Pierogi - a universal infrared remote control app

I finally got Sony's RM-887 to work from Keyset 1. There were two problems preventing this - the Sony TV Keyset 1 wasn't shown in the TV filter (only from 1a and up) and I missed it from the main...

Open camera
Open 'General settings' (rectangle icon on the lower left on main screen)
Change 'Show captured image' setting to something else

Re: [Announce] Pierogi - a universal infrared remote control app

Found a bug in the filtering algorithm on the 'Select Keyset' screen:

Select 'Make' -> Panasonic
Look at all the 'TV' keysets
Select 'Device' -> TV
Only 'Panasonic TV Keyset 1b' shown

I...

Re: [Announce] Pierogi - a universal infrared remote control app

I am wondering if you are up to implementing some weird keysets like this one http://lirc.sourceforge.net/remotes/canon/RC-1_RC-5 for controlling DSLR cameras. They usually have a few buttons and I...

Re: [Announce] Pierogi - a universal infrared remote control app

I think initializing every keyset as an object (that initializes several more in itself) might be the source of the memory hogging. If you place the keysets in separate files and let the app collect...

Re: [Announce] Pierogi - a universal infrared remote control app

I have no knowledge of Pierogi's inner workings but I think of each keyset being something in the form of a config file (similar to LIRC) with a human readable format in a keysets directory would be...

Re: [Announce] Pierogi - a universal infrared remote control app

Is the point of the project to implement all of LIRC's database or just to add keysets when requested? Why don't you make a way to enable the community to contribute with keyset data/import from LIRC...

Re: camera-ui2 (now a part of CSSU) (updated 09. May)

IIRC freemangordon suggested locking of the CPU while recording in HD for a better performance... if I'm not mistaken. And I personally think it is reasonable as it leaves more cycles for crunching...

Re: camera-ui2 (now a part of CSSU) (updated 09. May)

@RichardN900
An easy solution would be to install CPUTweak and load the HD Optimum profile - this would take care of most overclocking stuff for you.

You might also want to lock the frequency of...

Re: camera-ui2 (now a part of CSSU) (updated 09. May)

This is normal - you (like me) probably increased the post count for threads to something like 40. 80 pages x 10 posts = 20 pages x 40 posts.

Re: camera-ui2 (now a part of CSSU) (updated 09. May)

Re: camera-ui2 (now a part of CSSU) (updated 09. May)

Re: camera-ui2 (now a part of CSSU) (updated 09. May)

This is what progress is. It is good on several levels - coders get to practice and refine their skills, workarounds and unconventional fixes can sometimes lead to a new discovery and most...

Re: camera-ui2 (now a part of CSSU) (updated 09. May)

What about increasing exposure time upper limit from 1s to something more meaningful like 20s or even BULB. I tried recompiling fcamera with a wider exposure range but NokiaSDK was being a jerk about...

Re: camera-ui2 (now a part of CSSU) (updated 09. May)

Hey @<camera-ui2 devs>,

yesterday I was thinking in bed (...) is it possible to implement software zoom in videos similar to the one found in Canon's newer DSLRs.

For example if the sensor is...
