Re: [BETA] prepatch a system-wide patching system (alternative to patchmanager)

Jakibaki is developping a tool that may prove very useful to all of us Sailfish users, is being very active to answer testers in this thread, and according to his postcount, this tool is a...

Re: [WIP] App / Tweak: patchmanager a system-wide patching system + homescreen tweak

That's one way to put it. Another one is he came up with a tool with a significant improvement regarding one of the main limitations of Patchmanager. The fact that patches for both tools are not...

Re: [WIP] App / Tweak: patchmanager a system-wide patching system + homescreen tweak

Unfortunately, it still fails, and I have tried a number of times. I have more than 1 GB free on the partition. This (https://openrepos.net/comment/23724#comment-23724) seemed to be the issue...

Re: The new QWERTY device project

I do not see the point in a battery hotswap feature on the Livermorium. It would add complexity, bulk, development time, and extra work on the design/engineering/software for very little benefits....

Re: Maemo-Leste pre-alpha announcement

Thanks, great to see some detailed blog posts like that, it's very appreciated! Awesome to see that Anbox might work with Maemo-Leste one day, that would be a game changer for using it on modern...

Re: [Announce] Webcat Browser

Hey llelectronics, I'm back to Webcat after some romance with Sailfish-browser.

Is last session restoration implemented? I asked the question some years ago and you said it was planned, but I...

Re: The new QWERTY device project

I agree with Fellfrosch, but this is just my uneducated point of view. I have no skills in engineering and designing electronic devices.

Re: The new QWERTY device project

I'm one of those who would go for a smaller device if it was realistic (but I understand it is not at this stage), but in fact I'm not too concerned about width so I would keep a small bezel as well,...

Re: The new QWERTY device project

Damn, Chen is going to use this as an excuse to delay the Lauta-revival now!

Re: The new QWERTY device project

@Chen, glad you like the support and don't take my impatience as pressure, which it is not. It just is impatience and anticipation.

I'd surely be happy to take any information you can throw at me,...

Re: The new QWERTY device project

With the recent footage of Sailfish running on a Gemini or huge XA2 at the MWC, I can't help but thinking that the Lauta-revival project would be far superior as an open smartphone and handheld Linux...

Re: MWC2018 news

But I mean, labels or not, there is no way they can get away with it if they use a counterfeit device in this kind of event full or professionals and media, including people from Nokia. Obviously...

Re: MWC2018 news

Wouldn't it be surprising that a company built by former Nokia employees demonstrates their OS on a counterfeit Nokia device in a professional mobile trade show? I mean, I understand that their story...

Re: [WIP] App / Tweak: patchmanager a system-wide patching system + homescreen tweak

Here is what I get: https://hastebin.com/osifuvuyek

A lot is related to openrepos, but to be honest I have no idea which lines are just warnings or critical errors.

Re: [WIP] App / Tweak: patchmanager a system-wide patching system + homescreen tweak

There are two patches that I can't seem to uninstall from either the Patchmanager menu or Openrepos: App Locker, and Devicelock faith text. Any idea how I should proceed?

They are in red font in...

Re: MWC2018 news

The 3310 v2017 can be seen at the end of this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ps6-6CD8UfA) as well, after the Gemini PDA. I have no idea what the guy is saying, but it's still more footage of...

Re: AT LEAST Two More Blackberry Keyboard Phones Coming

My N900s and Jolla are still fine, except for the yellowish side of the screen on the Jolla, but the Jolla C has suffered more falls and survived way longer than any modern phone would have, probably...

Re: AT LEAST Two More Blackberry Keyboard Phones Coming

I don't know much about the Z smartphones, except that they are big and now have a nice keyboard slider (thanks for reviving the concept), but if true Sailfish experience could be possible on them...

Re: Neo900 - finally a successor of N900

I wish the Neo900 release announcement was around the corner so we could quickly change topic and get back to the device.

Re: The new QWERTY device project

As far as I'm concerned, there is no way this could be a good substitute to a Livermorium and I hope Chen will soon soon share his plans for 2018 regarding this device.

However, I must admit that...

Re: Idea: Split Keyboard Bluetooth Attachment

I don't think the magnets were a bad idea, they actually solved a lot of complicated design issues and allowed for a slimmer keyboard. What was missing in my opinion was a counterweight in the...
