Re: maemo & MeeGo folks at BlackBerry Jam World Tour 2012

OK, I'm the worst kid here, (unedited) pictures here (http://www.flickr.com/photos/88502395@N02/). Image shortcomings can be mostly attributed to my desire to play with the creative mode of the 808,...

Re: [Request] TweakFlashVer for the N9

I see just one potential pitfall, that being if aegis spots the change and prevents the loading of the flash plugin to prevent compromising the browser, but it's been a while since I dealt with that,...

Re: [Request] TweakFlashVer for the N9

Been away for quite a while, sorry. I don't plan on supporting TweakFlashVer, but if someone is up for it, then sure, feel free to reuse the code from the N900. The UI might need a makeover (as the...

Re: HP keeping WebOS after all, making it open-source to the community

Sure, but we've been over this, someone likes the metal lid of the 770, someone the kickstand, someone the screen... But overall it's apparently not something that manages generate enough interest to...

Re: HP keeping WebOS after all, making it open-source to the community

The point was that it's so wastly outdated that pretty much any device made today that has a native compiler available is a better choice as far as Qt-fication goes, the only possible motivation...

Re: HP keeping WebOS after all, making it open-source to the community

Simple - nobody bothered (I told this story a couple of times already). I personally made a 4.7 build nearly a year ago in just a couple of hours, but that (along with my dev env) sadly went down...

Re: HP keeping WebOS after all, making it open-source to the community

Qt was actually part of webOS (they used it for something internally) but the problem was twofold - that it wass officially off-limits for 3rd party apps, and that it was a fairly old version...

Re: Eldar's N9 review pt1 ... honest?

Maybe, maybe not, but it's never the same thing, a small difference for one person is a showstopper for another (plus, we don't know just how old the prototype is). The insult to injury is showing...

Re: Eldar's N9 review pt1 ... honest?

He tries to hide (with little success) it's a prototype and not a sales device.

Re: [ANNOUNCE] Qt Mobility 1.2 for Fremantle

A good verification step is to do a 'ldd /opt/todolisterfreefremantle/bin/todolisterfreefremantle | grep libQt' on the device to see what's it looking for. Did you use the latest (...fremantle5)...

Re: POLL: What color & model is your N9?

One really should think in terms of women as they tend to make up roughly half of the population :) It's a mistake to think in terms how many ladies (or guys :) ) you know don't like magenta. The...

Re: POLL: What color & model is your N9?

My hypothesis is that people who like the magenta one are not the people who had a Maemo device, probably never even heard of Maemo, and even more probably never had the reason or inclination to ever...

Re: [ANNOUNCE] Qt Mobility 1.2 for Fremantle

That "on the device" part refers to the previous line in the wiki page (the apt-get). You need to change the .pro file (from QtCreator) only if you are developing an application.

Re: [ANNOUNCE] Qt Mobility 1.2 for Fremantle

In other news, please try out the 1.2.0+git20111104-0nd~fremantle5 build. Should have the rpath, dependencies and generic apt-get issues ironed out. Dpkg and HAM are probably too stupid to deal with...

What exactly do you want to do ? To use this package, just do CONFIG += mobility12

Re: [ANNOUNCE] Qt Mobility 1.2 for Fremantle

The thing is it's hard to come up with a scheme that would work under both HAM and with apt-get from the command line, esp considering existing apps (did I mention I grew to dislike continuosly...

Re: [ANNOUNCE] Qt Mobility 1.2 for Fremantle

Correct, ironing out the minor kinks, as soon as it actually works, it gets pushed all the way to extras.

Re: [ANNOUNCE] Qt Mobility 1.2 for Fremantle

I submitted a brand spanking new version of libqtm-12 to extras (1.2.0+git20111104-0nd~fremantle1, in practice this is almost 1.2.1). Now, this is a completely differently packaged libqtm-12 as the...

Re: [ANNOUNCE] Qt Mobility 1.1 for Fremantle

Just a heads-up - I'm discontinuing/deprecating libqtm-11-* packages . They are outdated, not maintained upstream, and 1.2 had a stable release in the meantime. Fear not - this does not mean that you...

Re: Getting new phone: N9 or N900?

IANAL and all, but this is almost certainly not the case. If anything, it's rather to make it clear to people that they are on their own if they put in a random kernel. You know, so that you can't...

@People with randomly rebooting devices and developer mode enabled - could you send me a dmesg output right after a reboot ?

Re: Getting new phone: N9 or N900?

It's an apples to oranges comparison and I'd say it depends on the use-case which one 'makes more sense'. TBH, the only reason I turn my N900 on nowadays is to verify community package builds for...

I didn't do anything wrong, but I did clear my package cache :) 271kB is in your case the size of the Packages files that were updated - it obviously doesn't download what has been downloaded before...
