Re: N810 vs anything else?

The iPhone doesn't support multi tasking. If you chat, you can't do anything else. And if you do anything else, you get logged out of chat - makes it not really an Internet device - more like a...

Re: GPS questions...

Yes, even with AGPS, it's more often miss than hit. But then again, the AGPS app is so rudimentary, I have no idea if it was doing something or if I wasn't using it right. No status, no nothing. ...

Re: GPS questions...

I have an N810 and the GPS is the single largest disappointment of the device. It's very difficult to get a lock. I have pretty much given up on the GPS. Unless you stand STILL under UNOBSTRUCTED...

Re: battery life with gps on?

Another thing - the GPS on the N810 is notoriously unreliable. Even with the latest Diablo OS, it sometimes takes hours to get a fix. If my life depended on it, I would stay far away from the N810...

Re: Cp 437

Ok, I was assuming you wanted to run a program on another machine that you had logged into from your tablet. What program on the tablet does not output to utf-8?

There is no such thing as...

Re: Cp 437

Did you try this? I am afraid that luit (nor screen) are in the diablo repos. However, if you are running something on a remote machine, you can probably run this:

luit -g2 'CP 437'

I am shooting darts in the dark here - but "screen" might be able to do the conversion?

Re: N800 locking up with Diablo

try disabling Virtual Memory and re-enabling it? A frequent cause of the behavior you described is if the Swap file used for VM is corrupted. If it's feasible, after you disabled VM, reformat the...

Re: Calender

If you use Diablo and enable the extras repo, gpe-calendar is installable through application manager - no complicated instructions needed. Likewise with erminig

Re: Open Source games which aren't clones or puzzles or unfinished or former commerci

I used to play Armagetron a lot....

www.armagetronad.net

Not sure if you'd consider it a clone or not.

Or Tux Racer?

Re: Diablo Mail App

Don't get your hopes up about Modest. The multiple ding issue is a long-standing and well known bug - I reported it myself a few months ago. Bug fixing on Modest is glacially slow. This seems like...

Re: use usb to power the device?

To answer some questions here:

"Why doesn't the Nokia charge through USB"
- because that would be impractical. When you plug in USB, the two flash drives (internal + SD) are made available to...

Re: Garnet VM and linux

For synchronisation with jpilot, enter "net:" as your port in jpilot and it should listen for network hotsyncs instead of usb/serial.

I also second the recommendation for "STRIP" on PalmOS:...

Re: How about... Nokia PC Suite

Well, I still use a Nokia 6310i as a backup (one of the best phones ever made!) and it requires an old version of the Nokia software. And I also have a 6120 classic, which requires the more recent...

Re: New beta (v0.20) of OMWeather is released!

Hm... OMWeather stopped working for me and my fiancée. Anyone else having problems? All I am getting is "N/A" for all days and locations. Manual update or rebooting doesn't help.

I am not sure that bug is related to yours - it seems it's talking about some weird WEP + authentication. AFAIK, username/password authentication was only standardized for WPA/WPA2.

Anyways, one...

Re: What is fi or "the fi command" in Linux/Unix?

The if's and fi's have to be balanced. Assuming there are no more "if"'s in (A) in the dotted parts, then (A) will definitely NOT work.

In the original post, unless there is an additional "if" in...
