Re: Maemo

I've run it on a Pinephone, and it brings back memories of my old n900. I haven't run it in a bit due to the newer kernels doing spurious reboots 1-2 times per day, but will revisit when I have time...

Re: SailfishOS 2.0 Nexus5 based on CM13 alpha release

.macaddr, yes, 6 bytes. And when I adb shell on, I can use ip link to see that this address is not on the interface.

And no, whatever happened, affects across a total re-install.
I've cleared...

Re: SailfishOS 2.0 Nexus5 based on CM13 alpha release

[QUOTE=mautz;1538148]@vandys
I don't know what you are doing. The CM13 is an nearly untouched Cyanogenmod 13 image. The only thing that is different, is that i removed a check before install to...

Re: SailfishOS 2.0 Nexus5 based on CM13 alpha release

Yes, hardware is known good on both original Google OS and even Firefox OS. After install of this CM13 SFOS, Wifi is hosed.

But even more interesting, I've now reflashed (fastboot flash)...

Re: SailfishOS 2.0 Nexus5 based on CM13 alpha release

I wiped my Nexus 5, put in the provided CM13 and SFOS on top of it, using standard TWRP (ignoring sensors issue for now) without multiboot. SFOS starts up, but no Wifi. I just install that CM13...

Devuan?

Are my eyes fooled, or is there a N900 install image for Devuan?

Has anybody used it? What's it like? How hard is it to install?

Re: Python 2.7 on N800

Hi,

Looks like the port wanted an updated TCL/TK. Add these
(also to /usr/local):

Re: Python 2.7 on N800

Actually, it'll be /usr/local (there are bin, lib, and include files).
You can pick it up at:

http://vsta.org/Nokia/n810_python27.tar.gz

Hope it helps,
Andy

Re: Python 2.7 on N800

FWIW, I have Python 2.7.3 on my n810; I needed it for something
(ages ago, I even forget what...). The important "but" is that I'm
going to tell you it's just a /usr/local/bin install. If you...

Re: [ANNOUNCEMENT] Maemo-Repos.com a Maemo Mirror Repo

Thanks for taking this on! If it gets a lot of uptake we should
talk about supporting SSL access to. But for now... it's
really nice to have those mirrors in an easily-remembered
place.

Re: dbus xmpp message detection?

In fact, a quick trip through the source strongly suggests it *does* use the dbus, and dbus-monitor --session captures the details of how it flows through (along with a LOT of other mechanism). So I...

dbus xmpp message detection?

I just came across the great wiki page on all the Maemo dbus messages. One thing I didn't see was how to "see" XMPP messages incoming. I'd love to be able to detect messages from my home alarm...

SDK library version skew

I've pulled down some Maemo 5 SDK stuff, and can build apps for my N900 (with CSSU stable). However, the libraries in the SDK tree are newer than what's on my device--libstdc++ 6.0.12 versus 6.0.9...

Re: Wow people are still using the N900?

Wow, I didn't realize the FM receiver was tucked in there. Cool... I'm a DJ at a small station and didn't realize I had a quick & easy way to check the on-air sound!

Re: SIP call and in-call DTMF

Ok, apologies to Nokia, it was an Asterisk bug. It had to do with how SDP negotiates the packet type to be used for DTMF; the SofiaSIP stack on the n900 tried for 99, and Asterisk came back with...

Re: SIP call and in-call DTMF

Dunno... it's the same sort of SIP config I've used for countless other devices. I'll report back once I've built a debug version and figured it all out.

Re: N900 firmware download location

That's good to know, as I had never run into it anywhere else. Do you still have a copy? Can you generate an sha1 for it? Then I'll put it up for downloads as well.

Thanks again... Andy

Re: N900 firmware download location

Thanks, I've grabbed a copy. Before I put it up for general download, it'd be nice to know that it has a trustworthy lineage. I'm going to hold off and see if anybody else can independently verify...

Where to get N800/N810 firmware files

Hi, I posted this information in a thread, but it's easy to miss.

If you need the firmware files to reflash a n800 or n810, please look at:

I have the flasher for...

N900 firmware download location

Re: Skype... RIP?

I certainly was not able to make (paid PSTN) calls last time I tried.
But I have my own XMPP and SIP servers, and I have a solution
cobbled together which suffices.
