Make sure you have the GPS paired in the control panel. Uncheck any of the options under MM for the GPS. MM should just find it if the GPS is paired. Oh, and you have to choose the device for the GPS...

I'm having the same issue with my N800. In xterm I get:
Error connecting to GPS reciever: (22) Invalid argument (no rfcomm created)
Starting Maemo Mapper first gets the GPS (external)...

I uninstalled Canola2 and reinstalled from the us.tabletrepo.com repo. It went fine. Remember, you have to disable every other repo except the main Nokia one before trying to install off this one or...
