Re: [Announce] DrLaunch - Program launcher widget with portrait mode

Hello,

Sorry for not replying all this time. I'm very busy. I'm watching this thread a bit and I'm trying to keep up. I hope that after 1-2 week I'll be able to catch up again and release a new...

Re: Elop on Helsingin Sanomat: Nokia not returning to Meego, even if N9 is succesful

Clarification: I was referring to the "there is not future for MeeGo phones" thing. Nokia claiming that WP is the future is not different than claiming that MeeGo is the future.

And if you believe...

Some more thoughts:

First of all, as already mentioned, peter@marketing@nokia already said tha there will be another meego phone... i believe him.

AFAIK it shows the used memory as a percentage of the total memory (RAM + swap).

Re: Meego vs Android apps (C or Java?)

I believe that we're talking about the same thing (but I may be wrong). First, I don't understand how pagefaults are related to memory fragmentation. In fact, I'd think that pagefaults are an inverse...

Re: Silly small python question: task in a non blocking way?

It depends on your program:

If you have a cpu-intensive program (let's say a password cracker - that runs all the time) that needs to communicate with the network you may need separate processes...

Re: Meego vs Android apps (C or Java?)

Assuming that this is a reply to my post regarding memory fragmentation (please include a part of the original message or use @):

Where do you base the above claim?

Please re-read and consider...

Angry Re: Meego vs Android apps (C or Java?)

For shake... Do you have any clue *when* or *where* memory defragmentation is needed when using C/C++? Do you have at least one linux-based use case? (we're still talking about Maemo and Android and...

Re: Update all phone numbers at once

Not with a gui. Most probably you can edit the sqlite by hand and run an "update" query to prefix the numbers with what you want.

Re: N950 with MeeGo this year, but who trusts Nokia anymore?

For the fun of it:

Nokia released Maemo5 and promised a lot (4 out of 5)

Then they abandoned it and started wokring on MeeGo, promising even more.

Now they have abandoned that too and they...

Re: NOKIAQTSDK under windows - upload to extras-devel

I find the error messages self explanatory:

You don't have pgp (should be ok)
The directory should be in the form "arabicradio-1.0" where 1.0 is the version number (may be ok)
The parent...

Re: Future Qt scenarios...

If Qt is abandong, Intel will always able to create a department for developing Qt and hiring some trolls. Since Qt is LGPLd already, it won't need to buy Trolltech / Nokia to do that. Since Intel is...

Re: Bug filled to keep meego. Vote for it!

According to this (https://bugs.meego.com/buglist.cgi?query_format=advanced&order=Importance&votes=26) it is the 3rd most voted bug in bugs.meego.org. At least lets make it #1. What's the worst that...

Re: Microsoft is the plague: Nokia stock drops 14% as 1,000 employees walk out

Correct my if I'm wrong but one doesn't need to buy all shares to own Nokia or dictate its strategy.

I mean, if Intel wanted to jump in, it would only need to spend only part of the 33B USD. Right?

Re: Microsoft is the plague: Nokia stock drops 14% as 1,000 employees walk out

What amazes me is the way Elop handled this. Somehow it doesn't makes sense. He could just say "We became partners with MS", but instead he:

Wrote a memo that practically burns Nokia
Hurried to...

Re: Bug filled to keep meego. Vote for it!

Indeed, but maybe at some point developers may want to backup claims of existing user-base and meego support from the community. In that case this report (just like t.m.o. threads) can be uses as...

Re: MeeGo is not dead! (Or, put your money where your mouth is)

MeeGo is tied to Qt and Qt's future is in risk. Surely KDE can fork Qt but this won't help. One of Qt's big advantages is that it's cross-platform, but an opensource project most probably won't...

Perhaps we should report this in maemo's bugtracker (http://bugs.maemo.org/).

Here's a sample:

Severity: critical

Summary: Porn isn't shown

Re: Bug filled to keep meego. Vote for it!

Yeah. I know. But it would be fun to collect a large number of votes for it. Perhaps people inside Nokia could use it at some point to keep promoting MeeGo.
