Re: Sailfish OS (officially) on Sony Xperia devices

As far as I've understood by quickly skimming it :

- this is about Firefox OS being able to use "bluedroid" as its BT daemon (like most android) instead of "bluez" (like any full-blown GNU/Linux),...

Re: The new QWERTY device project

You'd be surprised how much a camera cost in a smartphone
HINT: there's a reason...

For the record, if anyone wants to use any such restore :

To flash the blobs that corresponds to some version of Sailfish :

You need to chroot into Sailfish if you're in recovery mode :

Re: Sailfish OS (officially) on Sony Xperia devices

I just hope that:

they will get to this in a near enough future (big hope: by end February 2018 ?).
they'll manage this with the *current* Sony Loire Kernel (4.4), not the one that was...

Re: Sailfish OS (officially) on Sony Xperia devices

Because, to make things simpler, they went for the stock Sony kernel. Which does have a lot of things NOT enabled (no modules, no btrfs, no networking fs like SMB/CIFS nor NFS, etc.)

Hopefully, at...

Re: The new QWERTY device project

I'm actually looking for an old Jolla phone for parts
(the motherboard on mine did fry due to a short circuit, due to a dislodged micro-USB. Yes, my phone tend to endure a lot of physical abuse)....

Re: Sailfish OS (officially) on Sony Xperia devices

The non-joke way to remove the warning screen would require Jolla to get their boot image (the hybris-boot.img file with the kernel+initrd that gets flashed on the boot partition) signed by Sony's...

Re: Laufhelden - Sport Tracker for Sailfish OS

Re: Sailfish OS on Sony Xperia X (community build)

Well F2FS isn't used much by the Sailfish X base installation, but (on TMO and TJC at least) it looks like it's currently the go-to SDXC card format.
(A tiny bit more popular then UDF, probably...

Re: Sailfish OS (officially) on Sony Xperia devices

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Jolla's recovery kernel only relies on its embed initrd ramdisk (that was certainly the case on Jolla 1)

It doesn't rely on data nor recovery partitions. You could...
