Smile IMAP settings for iCloud "plain password"

I don't want my password to be sent in clear text to the outgoing mail server. My current settings, which work, are:

Secure connection: TLS
Port: 587
Authentication: plain password
...

Hello,

I'm going back to my N9 after a year of iPhone.

AIM (aol) no longer logs in--- infinite loop of trying to login "Availability" screen.

Have tried rebooting, deleting account, trying...
