Re: The new QWERTY device project

I'm assuming this device will have the screen slide out instead of just the keyboard like the mod. So I was wondering if you thought about slapping a second (thin) battery behind the screen or would...

Re: MWC2018 news

I suspect it's not the Nokia 3310, I have seen a video of someone comparing the 3310 to a knock off and they looked surprisingly similar.

Re: MWC2018 news

Newer faster SoC, much bigger battery, rear-facing NFC reader/writer, rear-facing fingerprint sensor, marginally shorter.

Re: Nemomobile glacier UI. anyone seen it ?

I did bring up in a community meeting a while back about Splitscreen multitasking or some other more visual form of multitasking to Sailfish, and we concluded that we should implement it into the...

Re: AT LEAST Two More Blackberry Keyboard Phones Coming

Palm is now just a brand owned by TCL, like Alcatel, there's a chance that it could be open.

Re: Pokemon GO?

It won't ever work with Alien Dalvik, as it fails the safetynet check and won't ever pass it. I believe microg has a way to get around safetynet but that requires a version of Android that Alien...

I just gave that one as an example of many open source alternatives, I didn't suggest of using it.

Speaking of Ubuntu touch though, they use aethercast for casting stuff from phone to TV's etc....

Re: Sailfish OS (officially) on Sony Xperia devices

I can't find the quote now but sledges didn't rule out updating the Xperia X kernel to 4.4 in the future after I asked about it in one of the community meetings.

Re: Sailfish OS (officially) on Sony Xperia devices

Yes currently 3.4 kernel's don't work, but with enough patches it should work. At the moment, we're focussing on sorting the more fundamental parts of anbox in order to get it to work in Sailfish...

Re: Sailfish OS (officially) on Sony Xperia devices

In theory you could install anbox on the Jolla 1, but not sure if 1GB RAM would be enough.
