please make sure ur win XP already install n900 software before u flashing . its happen with my phone last time. so u need to wait the windows installed the n900 driver.

type sudo gainroot

maybe u have to wait because windows take time to install the nokia driver... try again and wait .....its happen to me before...make sure u follow the step carefully.....
