Re: Sailfish OS (officially) on Sony Xperia devices

I don't. But since US telecoms deploy a breathtaking patchwork of LTE bands specific to North America where the required band may differ from region to region even on the same provider, I am hoping...

Re: Mapbox GL Native QML plugin

Thanks for the answer, I understand now that you were talking of the OpenGL standard.

Re: Mapbox GL Native QML plugin

Alright. At least we tried ! Thanks for the time you spent on this.

Just to understand, what do you call a "standard" in this context ? A version of the mapbox GL renderer ? Of the Qt API for...

Re: Sailfish OS on Sony Xperia X (community build)

I just gave that one as an example of many open source alternatives, I didn't suggest of using it.

Speaking of Ubuntu touch though, they use aethercast for casting stuff from phone to TV's etc....

Re: Sailfish OS on Sony Xperia X (community build)

Thanks, I'll have a read tonight. This thread is only on page 27 for me though - what post number does the discussion start at?

Re: Sailfish OS on Sony Xperia X (community build)

My guess is that there is a dictionary of words, ordered lexicographically and by the frequency of use (based on some researched values at first), which will be updated each time the user types that...

Re: Sailfish OS on Sony Xperia X (community build)

That sounds like my kind of project (no UI to worry about) but I've never used QML and am struggling to think how prediction works. Do you suggest the alphabetically next matching word that's...

Re: Mapbox GL Native QML plugin

It is like the previous tests:
* Works perfectly with red map
* Crash when zooming in/moving fast the normal map

However, that must be the first useful error message I got since the start of...

It shouldn't matter what the on disk sqlite3 format is...
Any program that reads the data from the sqlite database is always going to use some select statement.

Re: Mapbox GL Native QML plugin

Zeta's testing was way more complete than mine. I only played with the red theme a couple of minutes and it seemed fluent until exit

The output:
[nemo@Sailfish mapbox]$ qmlscene mapbox-gl-qml.qml...

Re: Mapbox GL Native QML plugin

I tested with this new simple QML app, and first comment is that it looks great ! It is fast (no visible lags, adapts quite well to the zoom level), so a big applause once more to have been able to...

Re: Sailfish OS (officially) on Sony Xperia devices

Yes currently 3.4 kernel's don't work, but with enough patches it should work. At the moment, we're focussing on sorting the more fundamental parts of anbox in order to get it to work in Sailfish...

Re: App for vector renderer maps, using OpenGL ES 2.0

No problem to test !

So, first removing all previous *mapbox* programs, changing the repo to maps-debug, and installing the new version (pkcon install.... like previous tries), I still get a crash...

Re: App for vector renderer maps, using OpenGL ES 2.0

Hi,

Your mapbox-sfos-0.1 is working perfectly on Oneplus One, with 2.1.1.24. smooth zooming while pitched in and lanscape mode: great job!

Re: App for vector renderer maps, using OpenGL ES 2.0

Yes, me too. I hope it is only something wrong on my phone, but I doubt it. We'll see when another J1 user will test it.

Re: App for vector renderer maps, using OpenGL ES 2.0

Good ! That is indeed a good idea to test the limits of the Jolla.

However, I was able to run it before, but can't with the version.
As I couldn't make sense of it, I first rebooted, then seeing...

Re: App for vector renderer maps, using OpenGL ES 2.0

I think you should put as much as possible of the mouse/gesture stuff into your module, so that usual things would work out of the box and we'd avoid duplicating code in each app. As an app author,...
