Re: Wheezy, Debian 7, aka Maemo Reloaded

You mean developing for CSSU? But anyone can try developing an app. If it's a big app - a couple of tmo-ers can cooperate - just like me and Android_808 did with the microb replacement. I've never...

Re: Wheezy, Debian 7, aka Maemo Reloaded

Aapo: fmg seems to be working on kernel 3.x booting on Fremantle. Maybe he's the one you could talk to about some bigger plan about Maemo Reloaded.

Re: [Announcement] Python2.7 for Maemo5

First libraries such as pyqt or pyside would have to be build against 2.7 (as python2 and python3 aren't compatible)

Re: [Fremantle] Android inside chroot

@liar, lexik:

So only the modules as written here (http://213.128.137.28/showpost.php?p=1407439&postcount=160) are a must. What happens some of them aren't in the kernel? Segfaults?

Harmattan...

Re: QT5 on nokia n900 ?

Re: QT5 on nokia n900 ?

I meant, if Qt Quick Controls wouldn't be styled, it wouldn't have much sense on desktop (themes etc.). So if it was styled by default, we could have one problem less.

Re: QT5 on nokia n900 ?

Well, I'm wondering (in connection to the browser replacement), will the Qt Quick Controls style (hildonize) the UI? Otherwise, can it be done manually?

Re: [Announce/WIP][Alpha] MeeCoLay - run Harmattan apps on Fremantle!

I can't do any progress more unless the system core is updated. For example timed would need libc6 >=2.10, many games need newer libx11, building tracker modules needs major glib update and a couple...

Re: [Everyone's feedback required] Which applications do we need on Fremantle? Which of the existing need to be optified?

But if you have more non-optified apps, it may grow higher. I changed it to a request for a separate package, e.g. bash4-opt

Update: Please add non-optified apps to the list too, because they are sometimes a scourge!

Re: [Announce] CSSU Testing thread

I might've found a bug: /var/lib/dpkg/info isn't optified. It may eat even 40M of precious rootfs space (16%). Can you check, whether there are any symbolic links on the way there on your device.

Re: [Fremantle] Android inside chroot

So if we can ignore the power management bits [1], which kernel functionaly do we still need?

Re: [Fremantle] Android inside chroot

But kernel modules (.ko) and apkenv modules (simply shared libraries - .so) are two completely different things, aren't they? You don't load an .so with insmod.

Re: [Fremantle] Android inside chroot

It certainly isn't! You mean that the kernel modules translate the binary code that apkenv can't read? [1]

Re: [Fremantle] Android inside chroot

I can't point such an app :)
Won't an error message be shown if a kernel module is missing?

Re: [Fremantle] Android inside chroot

Dalvik links against kernel modules? So how would have thp launched a Dalvik hello world without Android kernel modules?

Yes, pm = power management.

Supposed there is static pm missing, what would happen while trying to run an Android app? //edit: Can't our Linux kernel take care of whole power management and our Dalvik app just let be controlled?

If you need an Android-kernel on which no Linux will run, then how can you run Android apps on Jolla?
