Re: [Announce] Native offline maps: OSM Scout Server

I have looked into it earlier, but not keen on it right now for the following reasons:

We are still on QtLocation 5.2. There is no future in developing plugins for that
With MapboxGL QML...

Re: Mapbox GL Native QML plugin

I looked a bit into it and this is a what I found regarding opnGL debugging https://blog.nobel-joergensen.com/2013/01/29/debugging-opengl-using-glgeterror/

To debug properly, we need OpenGL ES API...

Re: Mapbox GL Native QML plugin

As you can see at the end of https://github.com/mapbox/mapbox-gl-native/issues/10029 , Mapbox GL developer suggested that MapboxGL hits memory bottleneck on Jolla 1.

Unfortunately, the callbacks...

Re: Sailfish OS on Sony Xperia X (community build)

From the quick search:

Looks like Ubuntu source code is at https://github.com/ubports/keyboard-component

and it seems to use http://presage.sourceforge.net/

Re: Sailfish OS on Sony Xperia X (community build)

My mistake - it was the (official) one : https://talk.maemo.orghttps://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=99017&page=54

I would suggest to read also on the keyboard stack and what's used by Ubuntu....

Re: Sailfish OS on Sony Xperia X (community build)

Looks like http://openadaptxt.sourceforge.net/ is not actively developed, though.

I would suggest to look into Ubuntu Touch solution. They had predictive text input and, as far as I understand,...

Re: Sailfish OS on Sony Xperia X (community build)

@mikecomputing, would be great to have active and contributing members in the community. I don't think we are in position where we should just sit and wait for SFOS to get better without us - it...

Re: Mapbox GL Native QML plugin

I have extended cache database handling API to support the expected scenario:

cache stored in application .cache folder
cache size limit set by user in settings

In practice, when...

Re: Mapbox GL Native QML plugin

Zeta, great catch!!!! At least, we could ask for advice now from Mapbox GL developers. Do you want to submit your findings into the issue https://github.com/mapbox/mapbox-gl-native/issues/10029 ?

Re: Mapbox GL Native QML plugin

Zeta, just in case if the shared stdc++ is better, please try to run with QML plugin from https://build.merproject.org/package/show/home:rinigus:maps-debug/mapboxgl-qml

This version is compiled...

Re: Mapbox GL Native QML plugin

@Zeta and @tmi: thank you very much for testing!

Its indeed seems to be hard to debug this one. Since there were stability issues with earlier tests using static stdc++, I'll look into how to...

Re: Editing/Appending SQLite files

I would suggest to start with some SQL tutorial, for example https://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Structured_Query_Language.

In short, you insert your data into the database and, when you fetch it, you...

Re: Mapbox GL Native QML plugin

To test whether very primitive style helps against crashes on Jolla 1, maybe someone could test QML-only app? For that:

Re: App for vector renderer maps, using OpenGL ES 2.0

Zeta, thank you!

Throwing exceptions works quite nicely - the app dumps core on them with the corresponding exception message on the terminal. However, it maybe disturbed with static stdc++...

Re: App for vector renderer maps, using OpenGL ES 2.0

I must say I am quite puzzled with the results. Its all working on OnePlus X SFOS 2.1.0.11 - no crashes.

So, I would like to ask others to test and check...

Re: App for vector renderer maps, using OpenGL ES 2.0

Re: App for vector renderer maps, using OpenGL ES 2.0

MartinK and otsaloma: thank you for the feedback! We can surely write up a universal gesture area and make it similar (in some extent) to the one used by QtLocation.

As for the area, yes, it will...

Re: App for vector renderer maps, using OpenGL ES 2.0

Hi! I looked into it earlier and it was rather dependent on qtlocation implementation, hence my interest in pure QML solution. I hope we can get it working with QML and would avoid decoupling...
