Re: Sailfish 3.0.0.5 Lemmenjoki EA

Well, I suppose it could be done without major hiccups pretty easily; after all when starting up the mer-boat a device already is pretty much in miantanance mode similar to ubiboot, there is minimal...

Re: Sailfish 3.0.0.5 Lemmenjoki EA

I kind-of like the new design that brings up the menu on middle pull and closes the open application on corner pull.
That eases my life as it saves me a 2-gesture chain; I used to first do a...

Re: Sailfish 3.0.0.5 Lemmenjoki EA

Ahh, I just only now noticed that this has been fixed in 3.0.0.8 which I updated to yesterday.
Now the icon spacings are nice and clean! :)

Re: [poll] Sailfish ambiences popularity

This is also my use case; I need just these 2 ambiences, silent and my own ringone set.
For fun I have also created the wallpaper for my "non-silent" profile but that is not a hard requirement.

Re: It's the final countdown!

I presume you are here referring to the AI-in-a-box experiments by that Yudkowsky character.

That does not constitute as proper science as the so-called experiments were not made in public and no...

Re: Fix Nokia n9 deadly cmt issue

To just remove ubiboot without wiping the device is very easy.
All you need to do is flash a regular kernel to the device to replace the ubiboot kernel and you are done :D

If you have just...

Re: Sailfish 3.0.0.5 Lemmenjoki EA

There is one UI inconsistancy I just noticed which I have not seen yet reported;

When the device is locked and you access the top menu all of the same settings that you have selected are shown,...

Re: Contacts database in SFOS

Sorry I cannot help you with that; all that I know is both databases seem to contain pretty much the same contacts, only the DB under "priviliged" hierarchy contains a lot of extra crap and seems all...

Re: Sailfish 3.0.0.5 Lemmenjoki EA

You're correct there; same thing exists on XperiaX.
The topmenu being narrower than screen is not that bad, but zero pixel vertical icon spacing looks a bit uncomfortable.

I would not worry, it will be released when it is...

Re: How to change wiki.maemo.org user's password?

Excellent!
That was the dialog I was looking for but could not find it from my settings page... Is there a link somewhere or did you just *know* it existed?

Re: How to change wiki.maemo.org user's password?

I was just about to say that it should be the same as your maemo.org password, so that you can change it on garage page... but now as I checked I cannot find the panel to change password.

This is...

Re: sailfish on new nokia/HMD phones

Weel it might be possible then; HMD has published the kernel sources and now if 8 is unlockable the target is much closer.

@jbeemer01, if you have the 8 and are willing to experiment I suggest...

Re: Sailfish OS on Sony Xperia X (community build)

Re: Sailfish OS on Sony Xperia X (community build)

OK so what was your problem exactly, since I have found the build to be really simple using the "modified" HADK.
It is my gut feeling that AOSP builds even easier than Lineage.
